22.01.2022 Patients, Clinicians, Researchers and Industry come together to examine exciting developments and to hear from renowned experts from home and from around the globe for United in Compassion's fifth Symposium. Considering there will be a one day Nurses conference, three day trade exhibition, two day general symposium, networking welcome event, a Gala dinner event AND an Australian Medicinal Cannabis Training Day for Health Professionals why don't you have a ticket yet? Patients are crying out because they are frustrated by inadequate management for conditions like epilepsy, pain, cancer and chronic disease. If you're a sceptic, on the fence and even if you are already on board you need to come along and access this world class education. See you there!

16.01.2022 I'd like to share a heartfelt thank you for your support. See you at #NatEx2022

09.01.2022 Lisa Jolly is a Naturopath with over 10 years’ experience in the natural health industry. Lisa’s passion for whole mind, body and soul wellness has led her to combine traditional healing methods and medicines with modern leading edge technology, functional pathology and health retreats for the ultimate in healing and restoration. Based on personal experience, Lisa became aware of how devastating emotional stress can be on the physical body in addition to the mind. After co...ming across an amazing life changing technique called Neuro-emotional Technique (NET), she knew immediately this was a modality she wanted to include in her clinic. So, after completing her Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy), she continued her studies and completed several NET courses, enabling her to integrate this technique into her clinic. This tool has the amazing ability to shift a person out of fight or flight mode during a consultation, offering immediate relief from emotional (and even sometimes physical) symptoms. Lisa combines NET with herbal medicine, diet and nutritional supplementation for optimal nervous system support. Lisa is passionate about helping her clients to achieve a healthier mind, body and soul. Her clinic is currently based in Miami on the Gold Coast and she also offers online appointments for interstate clients. One Sky Wellbeing - Lisa Jolly Naturopath Tammy Guest

07.01.2022 Introducing Clinical Bites- little snippets of interesting research and clinical pearls. Today's bite explores how ginger remodels the microbiota. We know plant foods can positively influence our gut microbes, but how? Watch now (or save for later) to discover how ginger can influence cytokine production which may one day be used to help reduce colitis and other inflammatory-mediated disorders. ... Shout out to the The Scientist Magazine- head on over there and subscribe- which is where I first saw the story on this paper. They have great research interviews and awesome infographics! https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30449315/ Please leave a comment or shoot us a message if you'd like any/all of the references.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, I’d like to share a podcast (the link is below) for a few reasons; Firstly, to honour my friend and brilliant, caring man, Dr Mark Donohoe of Mosman Integrative Medicine. The one uploaded is an edited version- we were weeping openly towards the end of the podcast and I had to re-do the closing remarks (you may notice a tremble in my voice). Secondly, to honour those brave people (healthcare professionals, patient advocates, families and [too few] politicians) who... have fought tirelessly for ethical, monitored and authorised assisted dying. Lastly, to honour those patients who choose dignified, peaceful assisted dying instead of a cruel, painful death without dignity. As of April 2021 only 2 Australian States, VIC & WA, have passed voluntary/assisted dying legislation. It is WAY overdue that we, as a nation, adopt humane death as a patient right! *EDIT- Legislation passed in Tasmania late March and will be implemented mid next year. Kindest regards, Andrew Whitfield-Cook https://youtu.be/beQjWwHzLlk

01.01.2022 In 2018 we first learned about plastic in human poo. https://www.nationalgeographic.com//news-plastics-micropla Plastics have also been found in the seafood chain. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov//p/40572_2018_Article_206.pdf ... https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29604577/ In 2015, researchers reported that microplastics (<5mm) rained upon Parisians and also found them in the isolated Pyrenees Mountains! https://www.researchgate.net/publication/332424156 Worse still, microplastics broken down to even smaller particles are now found WITHIN vegetables. Welcome to the NANOplastics era! https://www.sciencedirect.com//arti/pii/S0013935120305703 What to do?! Scientists have found both bacteria and some worms or grubs can help degrade certain plastics in just days instead of over hundreds of years! Mealworms can make a compost from polyethylene and certain types of bacteria can break the chemical bonds of various plastics to degrade them back into the environment. Some research points to the microbiota OF the mealworms as the active agent in plastic decomposition. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26965627/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31675291/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31049864/ Yet again, bacteria (and tiny animals) come to the rescue of the planet. #earthday2021
