18.01.2022 Stomach pain and bloating? Could it be fructose malabsorption? Fructose is the sugar found in some fruit, vegetables and common sweeteners. An intolerance to fructose occurs when the amount of fructose eaten is more than our small intestines can break down and absorb. This results in excess gas production. People who are sensitive to this gas will experience symptoms including: abdominal discomfort; bloating; ... belching; altered bowel habits and nausea. These can occur within minutes of eating fructose. Longer term symptoms can include: fatigue; headache; diminished concentration; muscle and joint pain; and depression. 13.01.2022 Do you suffer from low iron levels? I’m seeing more and more people suffering from iron deficiency. Some people have levels so low that I wonder how they even get out of bed in the morning, let alone go to work or care for their family. Iron deficiency is especially common among women and children. Symptoms include:... extremely tired short of breath your heart beating fast or irregularly, or both dizzy and light-headed People with iron deficiency may also have reduced immune function, so they are more vulnerable to infections. Children’s growth and brain development can be affected. The current iron supplements, such as ferrous sulphate, are known to cause stomach upset and have mixed results in bringing iron levels back into the optimal range. Another huge problem with these supplements is they feed detrimental gut bacteria such as Bacteroides and E.coli. These can cause other health related problems. The typical iron supplements also increase inflammation in your intestine, which is associated with leaky gut. I have been doing what I love to do most, which is looking into the current research and have found a better way. There is an iron supplement that is better absorbed by your intestine and therefore leaves less iron available to feed the bad bacteria. Also taking a particular probiotic strain has proven to increase this absorption by an additional 50%! You also need to ensure you have a highly acidic intestinal environment which will help you absorb more iron from food and the supplement. Last but not least, a great source of iron is from your diet. It is recommended that you have no more than 350g (2 servings) of red meat per week, so you will need to increase your intake of other foods high in iron.
