17.02.2022 In designing my masks I have tried to ensure the best fit for most faces. Almost 2 years on now and I think they still meet the most recent guidelines by the WHO. Also keep in mind they are not just fabric cloth they have the PPE middle layer and have the option of adding a fourth layer. Whether you chose to cut that layer from coffee filter paper or kitchen paper towel or add a PM2.5 filter is up to you. https://youtu.be/aNUPVdJHeAQ

09.02.2022 If you haven’t checked out these new designs that came in before Christmas here they are also we will be getting back in some old favourites to so watch this space

25.01.2022 Beautiful morning down at Freshwater Bay Primary, come say Hi if your in the areaNew stock every weekend!

25.01.2022 Weve been looking at expanding our product range recently and being located in the fabulous Fremantle markets, surrounded by amazing food were often saddened by the amount of plastic, single use cutlery being distributed. Were going to soon introduce our own solution but weve put a lot of effort into researching the best alternatives as eco-friendly is often a misnomer. One of the things weve been looking at are bamboo straws but buying from overseas has revealed some ...very worrying information. Australia has, quite rightly, some very strict bio-security regulations and these extend to bamboo products. From what weve found, were we to import bamboo straws they would require routine fumigation at the point of entry. The substance used in this process appears to be Methyl Bromide and as well as some disturbing side affects as detailed by Safe Work Australia, (https://www.safeworkaustralia.gov.au//managing_risks_of_me), Methyl Bromide is also an Ozone Depleting Substance. So it seems, in addition to racking up miles in shipping, if we stock "eco" bamboo straws, the benefits might not be what were aiming for. We might be offering an alternative to plastic but if there are questions about the health risks and it means pumping gases into the environment that have a detrimental affects on our paper thin ozone, were not sure its the right thing. Watch this space though, we may have a cunning plan .... See more

21.01.2022 After a year of use, do your wraps look this good? Weve worked hard to find the perfect mix of local West Australian beeswax, Sumatran tree resin and jojoba oil to ensure our wraps dont crack, are a safe, natural, long lasting, beautiful, vibrant alternative to single use plastic wrap. #zerowaste #zerowastehome #zerowasteliving #zerowastelifestyle #noplastic #plasticfree #leastwaste2019 #reducereuserecycle #reduce #reuse #reuseable #litter #singleuseplastic #environment #po...llution #endplasticpollution #plasticpollution #breakfreefromplastic #plasticpollutes #plasticbag #reducewaste #fortheloveofnature #nature #instanaturelover #garbage #sustainableliving #sustainable #beeswaxwraps #beeswax #shoplocal #shopfreo #fremantlemarkets #fremantle #naturalfoodwraps #wastefree #foodwraps #madeinaustralia #clingwrap #plasticwrap #greenliving #eco #ecofriendly #earth #gogreen #climatechange #cleanocean See more

18.01.2022 Did you know Linen is made from the fibres of the Flax plant. After the plant has been cut and the seeds removed our linen uses a natural bacteria to break down the pectin that holds the fibres together. The fibres then go through a process called scutching to remove the woody stalks then the fibres are heckled or combed to leave the long linen fibres. Though processing is more labour intensive than cotton, the process has far less impact on the environment. It is also much stronger than cotton which makes it perfect for our Big Sandwich Wraps, just the right size for that lovely fresh sub!

17.01.2022 So disappointing that #colessupermarkets have decided to launch this promotion that produces these little pieces of plastic. Where will these end up in a month, ten years, a hundred years? #zerowaste #zerowastehome #zerowasteliving #zerowastelifestyle #noplastic #plasticfree #leastwaste2019 #reducereuserecycle #reduce #reuse #reuseable #litter #singleuseplastic #environment #pollution #endplasticpollution #plasticpollution #breakfreefromplastic #plasticpollutes #plasticbag #reducewaste #fortheloveofnature #nature #instanaturelover #garbage #sustainableliving #sustainable #greenliving #eco #ecofriendly #earth #gogreen #climatechange #cleanocean #plasticwaste

16.01.2022 So this is both fascinating and terrifying. As you watch, consider this; when did we begin to produce plastic? How much plastic pollution have we produced in this distance?

16.01.2022 I hope that we wont be remembered by you as the generation who selfishly and ruthlessly destroyed your livelihood. This astronaut recorded a heartfelt message to his future grandchildren, remorseful for the planet they will inherit (via NowThis Politics)

15.01.2022 Very excited to be running these workshops over the next few weekends with the support of the Fremantle Markets. 12.01.2022 The plastic bag ban has been in effect since the 1st of January but it still disheartens us to see some smaller retailers handing them out. We're just going to leave this here. It contains information for retailers and consumers about precisely what the ban covers, the alternatives and what action may be taken should someone fail to comply. https://bagbanwa.com.au

11.01.2022 Crack free wraps! It has been more than a month since I took the step to open my own retail space starting with Fremantle Markets and the response has been fantastic. Ive had some wonderful conversations with people, raised awareness of the issue of single use plastic with a huge number and my wraps are now being used in Singapore, Beijing, Macau and Texas! Whilst a lot of my customers have never seen wax wraps before, those that have and have used them say the same thing ov...er and over and I thought I should share something very important; mine dont crack! I spent so long testing, mixing and making my wraps that I became obsessed with finding a mix that really worked and so many of my customers have been disappointed with the wraps theyve bought elsewhere because, after minimal use, the wax just begins to peel away. The process my wraps go through means unless theyre frozen, they never crack. So, if youve had the same experience elsewhere or hear from friends about their cracked wraps, tell them to come down to Fremantle markets and see the difference.

10.01.2022 Bread wax wraps looking good enough to eat! More exciting Batiks to come

09.01.2022 It has been years since Ive bought any new clothes (aside from undies of course). Im also really proud of my kids, neither of whom buy new and love a good rummage through the bargains at our Op Shops. With so many tons of textiles going to landfill every year in Australia alone it just seems so preposterous to needlessly feed that mountain.

09.01.2022 Lots of new designs in stock and many more to come. Including our own range of hand dyed and printed fabrics, as well as some extra products!!

02.01.2022 Hi everyone, Id like to share my BIG SALE event with you but first I wanted to say thank you! Whether youve bought from me or come along to one of my workshops, you are part of my small business success and it is very much appreciated. I have had the privilege of talking to many of you over the years and I have loved meeting so many more at my stall in Fremantle Markets. It was a very sad day when this crisis hit and I had to temporarily close up shop especially since the... response from all of my customers has been so incredibly positive. Whilst I could have wound down and waited for this cloud to pass I decided instead to move into a larger workshop and focus on developing the business. Ive invested in new equipment and spent a lot of time designing my own textiles and I cant wait to share this with the world when my website goes live. For now though, its SALE time and Ill post very soon all the details and collections in the 20/20 SALE. I have lots of old stock that needs to be cleared to make way for the new collections. I wanted to share a photo of me in my new workshop, an amazing space and amazing neighbours; Fremantle Mind, Lost Property and St.Pats Community Support Centre who I hope to be able to support again with some new initiatives over the rest of the year. Thanks again everyone.
