23.01.2022 The connection between Autism and Iron deficiency The recent data has shown that the average number of children being diagnosed with autism have dramatically increased since the 1980’s. The reviews of epidemiology has estimated the global prevalence of autism is two cases per 2000 people, and six per 1000 people have Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The current studies indicate the prevalence of iron, vitamin D deficiency and anaemia are higher in compared to control gr...oups. The findings advocate for serum ferritin levels to be monitored in every case of autism as a baseline investigation. Iron deficiency has shown to reduce the processes of myelin formation (sheath that forms around nerves of brain and spinal cord) and neurotransmitter metabolism as well as affecting the energy production in the brain. These impairments have been thought to alter and cause delays in cognitive and behavioural developments in children. As a naturopath I have seen great improvements in treating ASD children with low ferritin levels and Iron supplementation. In matter of a month, the parents have reported significant changes in the child’s behaviour and overall cognition. Symptoms associated with Iron deficiency in children: Pale skin Irritability or fussiness Lack of energy or tiring easily (fatigue) Fast heart beat Sore or swollen tongue Enlarged spleen Wanting to eat odd substances, such as dirt or ice (also called pica) For enquiries and free 15mins consultation, contact via: [email protected] 0410771239 #autismawareness #autism #irondeficiency #naturopathicmedicine #healthyliving #behaviourchange #cognition #asdawareness #asd #ferritin #anaemia #autismacceptance #autismmom

19.01.2022 Do you suffer from reflux? If so, stop using anti-acid reflux medications and consult with your health professionals as you may be suffering from Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD). Alternatively, causes the back flow of stomach acid into the esophagus and damaging it's delicate lining. 14.01.2022 The link between Digestive enzymes and hormonal imbalance Digestive enzymes are produced by specialised cells and glands throughout the body which, takes the initial step in the mouth by the saliva. Digestive enzymes break down larger molecules into smaller particles to be absorbed and digested easier by the body. Lack of digestive enzymes can cause malabsorption of nutrients and ultimately cause health problems. Hormone imbalance can be partially caused by fat malabsorption.... Low lipase (digestive enzyme to break down fat) can cause low break down of fats which are the main building blocks for steroid hormones. Steroid hormones are; Pregnenolone Progesterone Cortisol DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) Testosterone Estrogens An example of this can be seen in estrogen dominance individuals. Without production of healthy levels of progesterone, estrogen dominance health issues such as endometriosis cannot be easily resolved. Some of the associated symptoms with insufficient digestive enzymes are; Bloating and gas, especially after eating Feeling full after small amount of food Indigestion sensation for hours especially after protein and fatty foods Occasional heartburn and mild indigestion Irregular bowel movement such as occasional diarrhea or constipation Undigested food particles in the stool Food sensitivities Allergies Estrogen dominance History of gallbladder problems If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms and would like to know more about it, contact us at 0410771239 or visit us at natureaid.com.au #digestiveenzymes #indigestion #naturopathy #bloating #foodsensitivities #hormonalimbalance #healthyliving #healthawareness #doncasterhealthvisitors #melbournenaturopath #estrogendominance #digestionsupport #natureaid

13.01.2022 We all have heard the affects of diet on children's behaviour but did you know it all starts from the GUT? Recent studies have shown the strong link between gut health (microbiome) and neurobehavioral symptoms Which, it all may start from the mother and her gut microbiome during pregnancy. It is hypothesized that abundance of certain bacteria in the gut may be linked to lower levels of beneficial chemicals, which are produced by breakdown of molecules in the gut. So would in...troducing a diverse probiotics reduce some of the associated symptoms? Moreover, another theory linked to autism is leaky gut (increased intestinal permeability). Some of the symptoms associated with leaky gut syndrome: GIT problems such as; diarrhoea/constipation, abdominal discomfort, flatulence, bloating and irritable bowel syndrome. nutritional deficiency food and environmental allergies, asthma, bed wetting, ear infections behavioral issues intestinal pathogens "Let medicine be thy food and let food be they medicine" For further enquiries and treatment plans contact us at natureaid.com.au [email protected] #autismawareness #guthealth #foodasmedicine #naturopathicmedicine #doncaster #gastrointestinal #probiotics #happy

12.01.2022 In one of my previous posts, I've talked about leaky gut and it's associated symptoms. But, what causes leaky gut/ increased intestinal permeability? The exact cause to leaky gut is still unclear however, diet and lifestyle has shown to have major impacts on increasing the intestinal permeability. Which foods can cause leaky gut?... Gluten (especially wheat harvested and grown in Western countries) Dairy (mainly cow) Lectins Refined sugar and artificial sweeteners Refined vegetable oils Alcohol stress In 2007 WHO (World Health Organization), declared stress as "the health epidemic of the 21st century". When we experience stress (physical, mental and emotional) our body produces hormones such as cortisol and norepinephrine. These stress hormones are our survival hormones, which are meant to protect us from dangerous events (fight and flight). They transfer energy into muscles, increasing our heart rate and breath. As a result, it shuts down our digestive and immune system believing there is no time for it. The impression of becoming so scared, pooping your pants. Also, stress alters gut microbiome and PH levels, adding further complications to the picture. If you're suffering from leaky gut syndrome, do something about it today. It's never too late! 10.01.2022 The eyes are the windows of the soul Have you heard of iridology? Iridology is the study of health via examining the structure and colour of the iris, the sclera and pupil. The iris has a connection to every organ and tissue of the body via the nervous system. The optic nerve sends visual information to the brain and receives information from the brain about the state of the organs and tissues in the body. Iridology is not a treatment method but a screening tool to identify... inherent individual predispositions. The colour and pattern of the iris is a reflection of genetic inheritance (Three generations before you) and the development of the dispositions are dependant on our diet, lifestyle, love and mental health. Every eye tells a story, what’s yours? To book for an iridology consultation, contact us at natureaid.com.au [email protected] 0410771239
