22.01.2022 No $1bn Adani Loan!

18.01.2022 BREAKING: Financial statements released for old and dirty power station Vales Point revealed that coal billionaires Trevor St Baker and Brian Flannery received over $250m in profits over the last 4 years. Despite making some serious bank at the expense of our climate and communities, they're still in line for a government grant of $8.7m. Can you believe it? We call on federal MPs to scrap this scandalous waste of public money. We need the federal government to step up for climate action, not hand-outs to coal billionaires. Sign the petition to add your voice https://www.nature.org.au//no-handouts-for-vales-point-po/

15.01.2022 The Nationals can’t be trusted to manage our most precious resource.

14.01.2022 A historic bill just passed the NSW Parliament that opens the door for NSW to become a clean-energy superpower! This is a huge win! We’ve never seen this level of ambition in NSW towards clean energy. It shows we can tackle the climate crisis. This comes after years of climate action by people like you and communities across NSW. ... Together, we organised across the state to build the movement. We secured ambitious clean-energy commitments from the major parties in the lead up to the 2019 state election. And we maintained pressure until the government delivered. When people come together we can achieve great wins for the climate. Please spread this video far and wide to celebrate the strength of our movement and to build momentum for more wins like this in the future.

08.01.2022 It is still hard to fathom the immense loss of wildlife from last summer’s bushfires. By some accounts, nearly three billion animals were killed or displaced. It’s important to acknowledge our grief at this immense loss of life, so let’s take a moment to reflect on how we have and can protect wildlife.... This year, we rallied, signed petitions, and called on decision-makers to protect nature. Together, we will continue fighting to protect wildlife habitat and forests and for climate action to ensure nature and our communities are safe. Ecosystems and habitats around us are recovering, and our communities continue to speak up against environmental devastation. Take a moment to remember the beauty that still surrounds us. Listen to this recording of a lyrebird practicing his love songs in a deep ravine in the Blue Mountains on Dharug and Gundungurra country. Today, at 8.30pm the ABC will play Wild Australia: After the Fires. It is film that charts the recovery of wildlife in the aftermath of the recent bushfires. It is also an urgent call to arms to safeguard our environment. https://www.abc.net.au//offt/requiem-for-wildlife/12912686

07.01.2022 Traditional Owners are organising a rally in Sydney tomorrow in protest against the federal government’s approval of Santos’ Narrabri gas project. If the project proceeds, 850 gas wells will be drilled into the beautiful Pilliga forest, turning the last great inland woodland in NSW into an industrial gas field. The Gamilaraay people have fought to protect their homelands from colonisation, particularly agriculture and mining, since first contact in the early 19th century.... The Narrabri gas project the latest assault on their lands and the focus of their continued resistance. Gamilaraay Next Generation is organising a National Day of Action in several cities tomorrow. All people Indigenous and non-Indigenous are invited to stand in solidarity with the Gamilaraay by attending the protest in Martin Place, Sydney, at 5pm on Thursday, December 3. Sovereignty to Aboriginal lands has never been ceded. https://www.facebook.com/events/389807015686985/
