25.01.2022 What a year! I honestly do not think there is any way to describe what we all went through this year apart from saying it was an experience and I am glad 2021 is just around the corner. ... I have had big highs and big lows, I have learnt a lot and I have worked with some incredible people and businesses. Normally I would say lets hope 2021 is bigger than this year, but I think this years wish is going to be for us to all go back to as close to normal as we possibly can. I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas break, you get to spend as much time with your loved ones as you can and I will see you in 2021

23.01.2022 They say that we only use 10% of our brains and look at what we achieve. So, imagine if you plant an idea like a seed in your mind and you grew it with positivity, do you think it would grow? Of course, it would!!... So, what are you waiting for, plant that goal and nurture it and succeed - there is nothing stopping you!

23.01.2022 Yesterdays conversations were really interesting and thank you to those that do test their feed that sent through the tests. I love seeing what's going on, in different areas/soils/farms. But it got me thinking, what do you test on your farm? Fill out the poll below! https://poll.app.do/what-do-you-test

23.01.2022 Can you believe we are only three months away?!?!!? But if you want to keep rocking around the Christmas tree without racking up Christmas debt, be more thoughtful in your spending and saving this season with these simple tips! Make a shopping list ... Set limit spend on each present Don’t wait until the last week before you start to shop If you are crafty, or a great cook go with the homemade options, the person receiving your present will love the authenticity of it. Buy items when they are on sale Pay in cash, avoid the credit card!!! If you are anything like me and love seeing people open presents, do what I do to extend the fun and wrap everything individually! Wrapping paper one item that can look amazing without spending a fortune. I am a fan of the old brown butchers paper with curly ribbon, looks amazing and is far from expensive. Choose time over money why not give the gift of time, create an activity that you can all do together!

23.01.2022 First task for me today! Many of you may not know that when I am not running this business I am running my Dairy Farming business. Staying up to date with Industry issues is a big part of this and also my Farm Consulting service. ... But more importantly making sure you have an input when you can so your opinion is taken in account. These elections always have consequences and its an opportunity for change (if thats what you want). Not voting is like giving up your voice, so all you Australian Dairy Farmers put this on your list of things to do today!

22.01.2022 Starting on Monday 17th of May, its International Coaching week. Yes, I am really excited. There is heaps happening in the industry next week, but before I jump into all the fun stuff there is one topic I do want to bring up. Qualifications. ... Here in Australia "Business Coaching" is an unregulated industry. Anyone can slap this title onto their names and away they go. This pisses me off. I have seen what can happen and I can tell you it isn't pretty. I am qualified clearly, I was qualified before I started. For me it was really important, it aligns with my values. So just be wary out there and don't worry if I have it may way we will be regulated before too long! Enough of that now, I hope you all have a great weekend and I will see you next week Rebecca x

19.01.2022 There is a lot of confusion going on, on social media today. Ads are being taken down, accounts being frozen, voice messages in chats are being blocked. This is temporary, it is the result of the US election. ... If your account is running an ad, try and stay off it and don't send any voice messages. These issues will be resolved soon!!!!

19.01.2022 It can defiantly feel like a stress test sometimes!

17.01.2022 How has your silage season been this year? Are you finished? Did you get what you need? Do you have your silage tested? ... These are all really common questions asked at this time of year, between farmers and by people like me!! Its really important within our business to ensure that we plan for success and a really big part of that is our feed budgets. A lot of farmers still just cut what they can and hope that its enough and that's fine if it works for you, however there are some really great tool that are very easy to use to ensure that you are planning ahead and you get the required feed that you need. One of these tool that I find really easy to use and explain and its one of the less complicated ones the Dairy Australia's Monthly back of the envelope feed budget. I have included a link for you to have a look at if you haven't already seen it or use it. Have a look, it's absolutely worth your time!! https://www.dairyaustralia.com.au//monthly-back-of-the-env

17.01.2022 Chris come to me with a goal, no time line - just a vision. We started by trying to create what a time line would look like and it went from 5 years to 10 year back to 5 years. Chris goal is BIG, I told him to dream big and he did! With a goal as big as his there are some pretty big obstacles to overcome and every time he said to me "should I go and have a look" or "Should I ask" I just kept saying yes. Call it market research was my line. And its true, when you have a big g...oal research is the key. But with Chris, although his goal is huge, it isn't unrealistic. In fact it is so realist that now we have going through all the planning and research he has realised his goal isn't for 5 years time, his goal is a lot closer than he thought. I can not wait to continue working with you in 2021 and being a part of your journey to success! #lovewhatido #businesscoach #HelpingPeopleSucceed #southgippsland

17.01.2022 We are excited to be back recording season 2 of The Business of Farming podcast! Season 1 is doing really well and I would like to thank everyone who has downloaded, followed and subscribed If you haven't dont forget you can find us on Spotify or Apple podcast, we have had some great times, learnt a lot and have had some amazing guests! ... Which brings me to today, we won't be launching Season 2 until Feb 2021, but because we are so excited we are having a little game of guess who?! I will be giving away clues on who our special guest is all day today and if you can guess who SHE is you will win a copy of her BOOK. Now even though she is speaking today about Agriculture, the concept she works with has been implemented in many different sectors all over the world, so every one can play! I have given three hints already, there is another in the video and I will leave you with 1 more ....... Although our guest is Australian, we have never had to record this early due to time differences Happy guessing

16.01.2022 This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. As the world welcomed the new found peace and those that returned home were welcomed like heroes, some never made that journey. So today on the eleventh day, of the eleventh month on the eleventh hour we all take a moment to remember.... LEST WE FORGET

15.01.2022 Risk Management Every business has risk associated to it and its how we deal with this that can be the biggest difference. Its all about identifying the risk and then controlling the threats. So how do we do that?... We create a risk management strategy. Risk management strategies are very easy to create. Most businesses have the same common risk management categories. They are; Compliance, what laws, regulations, codes your business must adhered to Financial, Structure, systems and transactional Operational, administrative procedures and workplace relations Environment, these are external events that you have little control over Strategic, your business goals and business plan Reputational, the reputation of your business and in some cases you. Risk management is a part of any well developed business plan but can also be a stand alone document that is very detailed and based around the goals, visions and values of the business. Do you have a Risk Management Plan? If not and you would like to discuss how to best situate your business to manage threats send me a message and we can make sure your business is in the best possible place to control risk.

15.01.2022 This is why I absolutely love doing what I do! Getting messages like this makes me so happy Seeing people achieve their dreams! Everyone has different dreams, goals, ambitions and I am so lucky that I get to join the journey and watch these goals become peoples realities! ... And that is the case right here! Its the first step to much bigger plans and I can not wait to see them all become this superstars reality!!! You can do anything, as long as you have the passion, the drive, the focus and the support! So send me a message and let's work together to make your goals and dreams come true.

15.01.2022 Don't call them dreams, call them plans!!! A dream is what you wish for, and a plan is what makes you move!! #dreams #planforsuccess #planning #youcandoit #makeithappen #livethelifeyoulove

15.01.2022 Many think that this is a vision statement its not! Although the business values will defiantly align with the businesses mission statement they are two separate things. The business values are a guide on how the business should be run. The most important thing to do when setting the values is to include the whole team. Instead of having the values set from management and then just passed down, if you include the whole team in the setting of the values you... will make everyone feel like they want to achieve because they have been a part of the process. It’s the little things like this that can make a massive difference in how your team and business achieve goals. What’s your Business Values?

14.01.2022 Keeping up with the Jones’s! We have all heard this saying and I even recommended the book Afflenza (which is actually what actually keeping up with the Jones’s is!), last year. Keeping up with the Jones’s is the notion that we must try and have everything someone else has. It puts unrealistic pressure on us, it can lead to stress and overworking. It is an unrealistic addiction to economic growth. ... We have all seen those posts on social media about working when others are sleeping, and the only way to get what you want is by killing yourself and having no work/life balance along the way. Don’t fall into this trap!!! Find new Jones’s!!! Network and follow people/pages that can demonstrate sustainable spending habits and saving tips and trick. You will be surprised with how many people / pages there are out there and even more surprised with what you will pick up along the way! Drop your best saving tip or trick below #keepingupwiththejoneses #moneytipsandtricks

14.01.2022 First task for me today! Many of you may not know that when I am not running this business I am running my Dairy Farming business. Staying up to date with Industry issues is a big part of this and also my Farm Consulting service. ... But more importantly making sure you have an input when you can so your opinion is taken in account. 14.01.2022 John has been a mentor to me since I entered the dairy industry over 12 years ago. His guidance, support, wisdom and sense of humour has been invaluable and the time that I still get to spend with him discussing all aspects of the industry and life is precious. He has taught me so much but most of all how to 'do the numbers', learn from good business people, challenge yourself with the 1-2%ers, work hard but still make it a priority to find that work/life balance. Thanks a million OMJ!

14.01.2022 I feel that this words has a bad reputation attached it to. I say that I am ambitious, and I get those dirty looks - but why? Is it wrong to set goals? ... Is it wrong to have a plan? Is it wrong to work for the things I want? I don think so! Being ambitious does not mean; you are putting success above all else ignoring your values along the way putting other down around you so you feel better becoming someone that you are not for the sake of it So here's to being ambitious AF, aligning with your values and achieving what you want!

13.01.2022 Everyone loves getting a surprise Christmas gift, but how do you know what the right type of business gift to give is? Here are the Do and Don'ts of client gift giving... DO make it all about their business, help promote their business, encourage them DON'T make it about you, do not put your own logo or business anywhere on the gift DO have budget in mind, it is all about the thought remember DON'T go over board, something small is always appreciated DO make sure you have something related directly to business DON'T make it a personal gift DO try and source your gift locally, especially this year! DON'T buy a generic gift and hand it out to everyone Lastly make sure you leave enough time to post them if that's what you need to do! There is so much to be gained by the client Christmas gift as long as you get it right! And remember they can also be a tax deduction. I am a massive fan of gift giving, so I'm off to post the first lot of mine

12.01.2022 The Victorian government has unveiled a new $3 billion business support package to assist businesses. The financial assistance announced on Sunday includes cash grants, tax waivers and tax deferrals. For more information go to https://www.business.vic.gov.au//business-survival-and-ada

11.01.2022 I am going to avoid the word mindset as much as I can in this, because many people believe that you can either have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset this is not true. But so I don’t confuse things I am going to talk about Performance and Learning as zones. Why is this important you ask? ... In business we all have to deal with different types of people and more often than not we have to deal with employees. So understanding these zones can make you life so much easier because you can predict what you are dealing with. Today I am using a new employee as my example. When you hire someone new their mindset from the start is going to be focused on performance, they are going to want to impress you, they will be in the performance zone. And although they know their mindset should be on learning - it's not and that's ok, it's just human nature. Does that make sense? Now to combat that one thing I am big on is having policies and procedures implemented before they start. By doing this you are "catering" ( I need to find a better word) to a performance mindset to being with. By doing this you are creating less problems for you from the start, you are creating an employee that will love their job, not feel overwhelmed and will feel proud that they have achieved from the start, creating confidence! If you are looking a hiring an employee and you don’t have any policies or procedures in place give me a call and I will help you so you can have the perfect start!

11.01.2022 From the 16th November, you need to adjust your payroll process to ensure that you are passing on the personal income tax cuts that the Federal Government introduced as part of their 2020 -21 Budget. Although payroll software should automatically update these rates, some software programs may need you to download an update.... To be prepared, check with your accountant or software provider before the 16th November to be sure and so that you are ready.

11.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the amazing Dads out there

10.01.2022 We have had the trail cluster for over a week now and this is what we have found. They do seem to help with cows that slip our slowest cows time was improved by 11 seconds We only saw an increase of milk of 200mlish this could have also been weather and paddock related Glenn's opinion - he likes more weight in the cluster so he isn't keen on them... My opinion - I love that they are light and I also like the technique of changing the inflations. So our shed is divided If you want more information, give Trent Lawrence a call on 0408 695 585

10.01.2022 Let’s talk boundaries.. The Oxford Dictionary defines a boundary as, a line which marks the limits of an area; a dividing line What are your boundaries? How do you divide your energy or your time?... We are accessible all the time with phone calls, messages, emails and many of us, me included, respond to them at the stupidest times! We make ourselves too accessible. Many small businesses owners fear that if they do not answer, they will lose out on potential clients, options or business. Our potential customers or clients are living in world of click and collect so they expect to be answered! So how do you get around this? Set boundaries. Set your business hours Set your response times. Communicate your own boundaries and stick to them. What about the fear of losing business? I hear you ask, you won’t! In fact, you may find that you attract more of the clientele that you are actually looking for with less of the drama as you could well be refreshed and ‘on task’. Sounds good doesn’t it? So get those boundaries in place! And remember, No is a full sentence!

10.01.2022 This is the last of the three shorter episodes exploring financial statements. Although a cashflow is not classified as a required financial statement it has serval important uses to any business, so we just couldn't leave it out.

10.01.2022 Question 2 Do you help with time management? ... YES, absolutely! There are so many different techniques for time management issues that we can try. It all depends on you and what works best! Some examples of time management strategies are; Working out what times you work best and prioritise tasks around that time Creating time audits Setting time limits Setting your day up by tasks Just to name a few! If you want to work on your time management to improve your days please send me a message I would love to help!

10.01.2022 Another Great Question!!! Keep them coming, remember if you are thinking it chances are so are others, so shoot them through!

10.01.2022 With rain falling throughout Victoria, I bet every farmer is having a fantastic Monday morning Has the rain come at a perfect time time for you??? How much have you had??

09.01.2022 Anyone that knows me, knows that I can not market myself!!! In business they say its one of the hardest things to do for yourself. 08.01.2022 Here is my formula to succeed, what's yours?

07.01.2022 I know at the start of the week I said we need to come up with some better terms and I truly believe we do. The word Budgeting itself has such a bad connotation to it, as I also said, it sounds so restrictive. But in fact, it is the absolute opposite!! It is a tool that provides you with freedom!!! ... So in this case we really need to change our perception when we talk about budgets, we need to think of them as a way to the life we want - to the holiday we want, to the car we want, to the house we want!! If you don’t know were to start or you want to re-harsh an existing budget send me a message and let’s focus on what it can do for you! #notrestrictive #notrestrictiveatall #budgets #betterwayofthinks #budgetforwhatyouwant

07.01.2022 This month I was granted time with Nikita from Front Row Media Solutions, it was the kick up the butt I needed!! It is easy for me to tell businesses what to do, but doing it for me somehow always ends up at the bottom of the list.... Until NOW! It has been a big month, with lots and lots going on behind the scenes. ... So without any further ado, please check out my new look along with a new website to match! You will see on the website you can now easily sign up to my monthly newsletter! It will always be jam packed with helpful tips, trick and links so please subscribe!! Go check out what we have been up to and leave me a comment about what you think! www.natureofbusinessconsulting.com

07.01.2022 Budgeting, it’s the worst word to use when you want to save for something. It sounds just so restrictive!! Budgets are generally designed around your spending (expenditure), but reverse budgeting is focused on your savings. Its designed around what YOU want!!! , sounds about just as good as budgeting though doesn’t it ?!?!?!? We really need to come up with some better terms! ... Anyway, reverse budgeting is one of the best strategies to save money because it is focusing on what you want. The idea is simple, pay your savings first!!! For any type of income budget I am a massive fan of the 50/30/20 split. 50% of income on necessities, bills etc 30% on wants, movie/dinner etc 20% on savings, a holiday/car It’s a great way to budget without having to micro budget every cent, it’s super easy and very effective! So what are you reverse budgeting for and how are you doing it??? (Please please someone drop me a better phrase than reverse budget!!!) #budgets #budgetstyle #whatyouwant #findanothername #moneymatters #saveforwhatyouwant

07.01.2022 It's the first of June!! It's time to start planning for what you want to achieve next financial year. But before you do, do you know why a lot of people fail in their goal setting? They think their goals are really important to them but they actually aren't! ... Now before you bite my head off for that statement I can prove that it's true. Let's take just one common goal in business; to make more money. Do we all agree that's a goal? Ok now if I asked you what your top THREE values were I am pretty sure "Wealth" wouldn't be there. If we link our goals to our values you have a much higher rate of success. There is a process that I use that works to help you achieve this. So if you have goals that you want to achieve, let's chat and let's go through the process together so you have the best possible chance of achieving what you want!

06.01.2022 Work life balance is soooo important!!!!! Here's a little peak at the all about me that you don't get to see at work You will find me on my horse Elly most days, if not before or after work during my lunch break! ... In the fresh air in any type of weather! Spring is definitely my favourite time of year and I LOVE a good storm I take a million photos everywhere I go! Sunrise is the best time of day for me, its a reminder the that day is full of opportunities I go camping as much as I can, even if it's sleeping in the paddock with the boys! I try and read most days, autobiographies inspire my greatly. Reading about human triumph makes me truly believe that anything is possible I have more indoor plants than one possibly should have. It has been suggested that I am trying to create the outdoors indoors It doesn't matter what shoes I am putting on for the day I always give everything 100% and try to learn something new everyday. What do you do to create your work life balance ????
