16.01.2022 I just want to share some things that you can do whilst in isolation to lift your spirits. This is as much for me as it is for you! Sometimes we get caught up i...n the negative and we forget the things that keep us grounded and in a good frame of mind. We are all beings of energy and it is important to keep our energy levels high at this crazy time, not only for our physical well-being and to keep our immune system healthy but also to keep our mind and spirit healthy. There are many things you can do to keep grounded and boost your immune system, as you can see from the above banner. Personally, I have found the following crystals and essential oils very helpful at this time: I had trouble getting to sleep a few weeks ago, and I began using aragonite. I placed it under my pillow and have been sleeping well since. Aragonite is a reliable earth-healer and grounding stone. It grounds physical energies and is very helpful in times of stress. Amethyst dissolves negativity, it relieves fear and anxiety. You can hold the crystal in your hand whilst you are doing a meditation or just sitting in the sun to help you stay grounded and relax your mood. As you may know I am a Clinical Aromatherapist and have been practising Aromatherapy for many years. I develop my own blends and other products to keep one in good health and improve overall well-being. Essential oils should not be digested or used directly on the skin, so remember if using them, to dilute them in a carrier oil, such as macadamia, sweet almond or even olive oil. This should be at a 2.5% ratio for adults and 1% for elderly and children. Please contact me for further information if needed. The essential oils that I use are non-toxic, non-irritating and non-sensitising. The Essential oils I have been using during this time are: Frankincense- Boswellia Carteri: Frankincense deepens the breath, improves and protects the respiratory system and the nervous system, and can also be used to increase a meditative state due to its sedative properties. German Chamomile- Matricaria Recutita: German Chamomile is one of the gentlest essential oils, The properties are anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, immuno-stimulant, bactericidal among many others, therefore it reduces inflammation and if you suffer from allergies, as sometimes these are brought on by stress and we are all suffering stress at the moment, it will help alleviate the symptoms of allergies. It boosts the immune system and therefore helps fight infections. Lavender- Lavandula Angustifolia: Lavender is known as the mother of essential oils. It has over 140 properties including analgesic, antidepressant, antiviral, restorative, which restores health and well-being among many other uses. It can be used in a diffuser with or without other oils blended with it. A beautiful blend is Lavender, Mandarin and Sandalwood, or any woody essential oil. You can be creative in your blends and either choose the oils intuitively, or by aroma. Of course, when I am creating a blend for a specific purpose, I will use oils to compliment each other whilst looking at the purpose of creating the blend. Tea Tree: Melaleuca Alternifolia: Tea Tree essential oil stimulates the immune system and is somewhat of a natural anti-biotic. If I have a sore throat, I place a drop of Tea Tree on my finger and breathe in the vapour through my mouth. Don’t let the oil touch your mouth but just breathe it in as if you were drinking hot soup, it’s amazing how quickly it works to help alleviate any cold symptoms. These oils can be placed on pulse points if they are used in a carrier oil, used in a diffuser neat- without being diluted, placed in a bath- but make sure you place a few drops of carrier oil or full cream milk, in with the essential oil to solubilise the oil so that it does not sit on top of the water as this can cause irritation with some essential oils. There are an amazing amount of essential oils with many properties to assist you through this time, keeping you calm, grounded and healthy. Please contact me if you would like to know more.
