23.01.2022 This stone is Rhodonite from the Tamworth area. It is a lovely pink and very good quality material. The stone is set in Sterling Silver. The size is 3cm from top to bottom. $60 + postage

22.01.2022 Ed just finished faceting this ruby. It is made from man made corundum. That means that the material is the same as the ruby that you find. Same hardness, same qualities etc. However, the ruby you find will cost you a fortune and this one is not quite as expensive. This ruby is going to be set by me and I'm going to make the setting for it, so keep on watching this page. It is 12.2mm in diameter and weighs 8.62 ct. * I should also have added that corundum is called a Ruby when it is red. In any other colour corundum is called a Sapphire. The hardness is 9 out of 10 on the Mohs scale.

18.01.2022 I have been busy working with Sterling Silver lately. The gem stone is Blue Lace Agate from Africa. It used to be available in the Monto area as well but sadly not any longer. The agate is 4.5 cm long. $70 + postage PS For some or other reason the photo turned out a darker blue than the reality.

15.01.2022 Sterling Silver earrings made from Rock Crystal (Quartz). Stones including the bell cap are 3cm long. The material was found in the Central Queensland area. $40 + postage

14.01.2022 For something that looks a bit dramatic. This is a Smoky Quartz set in Sterling Silver. Ed found this stone in his "collection of stones", but can't remember where it came from. The Smoky Quartz is 14mm across and 7.82 ct. Price $70.00 + postage

11.01.2022 These sapphire ear studs are a lovely green colour. Found by us on the Central Highlands in Queensland. Eye clean and not heat treated. Set in Sterling silver. They are 4.3mm across and a total of 0.79 ct. Price is $80.00 + postage

11.01.2022 These Topaz ear studs have also been made by my husband. The topaz was found in O'Brien's Creek in Far North Queensland. They are 5.4mm across and a total of 1.48 ct. Set in Sterling silver. (Irradiating makes them blue and occasionally you may find a natural blue topaz. I did find one but it's not this one!) Most material from O'Brien's Creek comes up as a lovely clear stone. Price is $65.00 + postage.

10.01.2022 This gem stone is a bit different and not often offered for sale. It is Labradorite and it's a quality that was suitable for faceting by my husband. It was found in the Hogarth Range in northern New South Wales. The actual colour is a very light yellow/straw colour although is doesn't show up well in the picture. They are 6.6mm across and a total of 1.64ct. Also set in Sterling Silver. Price is $70.00 + postage.

09.01.2022 You can't get anything more Australian than this. A Topaz from Far North Queensland and a Blue Australian Sapphire in the one pendant. The Topaz is 8.3mm across and 2.62 ct. The Sapphire is 2.5mm across. Price $70.00 + postage

06.01.2022 I have updated the Nature's Wearable Art Facebook site. I'm a bit late for the festive season but there will be more opportunities during the year to buy some jewellery. I took off some items that were sold quite a while back. For anyone in the Monto area I'm happy to deliver. Our aim is always to obtain material that's Australian, but sometimes other things get added as well. Nothing of what we sell has been enhanced (apart from the Fairy Opal, but that has been disclosed.) The pictures are also true to what the item looks like. No Photoshop involved. New business card in a stand made from petrified wood found in Queensland. Happy browsing!

05.01.2022 Ed has made two brilliant cut optical glass ear studs. They turned out looking very attractive and we got several request for more of these. It was very difficult to get the "stones" set since neither of us has done this kind of setting before. Eventually we did manage! This set was sent to the Netherlands. (PS The sad thing is that this was probably lost in the mail. It never arrived.) (I should have picked the wooly bits off the black velvet)

01.01.2022 ONE HAS BEEN SOLD I have made two "Monto pendants". Made of Sterling Silver with a genuine Moonstone moon. The pendant signifies the rolling hills in the Monto area; the small moon as seen in the bucket; the next size moon as seen in Three Moon Creek ... and the big moon with the Moonstone is the moon in the sky.
