25.01.2022 There is plenty of Christmas cheer at Natures Edge Buderim! As part of the lively social calendar, more than 130 residents enjoyed a sumptuous two-course Christmas dinner earlier this month organised by the very active social committee. Held in the multi-million-dollar Leisure Centre each year, the evening is always a big success, with a live band and plenty of dancing adding to the party atmosphere. Resident and social committee chair Don Flanigan, says the social events at... Natures Edge Buderim are continuing to grow in numbers, which is testament to the friendly, inclusive atmosphere the community is known for. This is my second Christmas at the village and it is always a lot of fun. We hold the dinner every year and residents who book a table can come and decorate their table however they like. We have it fully catered and the bar is open of course, says Don. Christmas Day is always extra special at Natures Edge Buderim, with a fun orphans lunch organised for those residents who are on their own over the festive season. A lot of people are on their own at Christmas time, so one of the residents has organised a lovely lunch in the main hall where people can go along, share a meal and make new friends, says Don. With the summer months now upon us and residents making the most of the warmer evenings, Don says the regular Friday night Happy Hour drinks on the rainforest deck is attracting record numbers! Recently, we had about 65 people out on the balcony. Everyone brings a plate of nibbles and the atmosphere is always friendly. Click on the link below to read this story in full on our website.

22.01.2022 The residents at Natures Edge Buderim are spoilt for choice when it comes to leisure activities. An active social committee creates a jam-packed calendar of events and activities. There really is something for everyone.... The coastal walking group is a star attraction on the calendar. Every Tuesday and Friday, enthusiastic residents pile into the communitys mini bus, heading for Mooloolaba or Coolum beaches. Some people enjoy walking along the sand while others are more comfortable on the coastal pathway. Afterwards, everyone meets at a caf for coffee and conversation. Group founder Gail Price moved to Natures Edge Buderim from the Sunshine Coast hinterland because of its convenient location. We live in an amazing part of the coast and beach walking is so much fun. Its such a popular activity that we are adding another day next month, Gail said. Resident Gerrie Taylor has always been an active walker. Her and husband Lyall take it in turns to drive the mini bus. They enjoy the exercise and interaction. Walking twice a week has helped my fitness and mobility, Gerrie said. Being in the sunshine and near the ocean improves my frame of mind. Its peaceful and brings joy to my heart. The facilities and social vibe of Natures Edge Buderim appealed to the couple, who celebrated a year in the community last month. We love the Leisure Centre and social activities we often catch up with friends for a glass of wine on the rainforest deck, Gerrie enthused. We go to the theatre, use the library and swim in the pool. Learning to bowl is next! https://www.naturesedgebuderim.com.au/walking-their-way-to/
21.01.2022 Natures Edge Buderim was recently lucky enough to have the Buderim Male Choir perform for afternoon tea at the Leisure Centre. What an amazing and talented group of men - one of whom is a Natures Edge Buderim resident!
21.01.2022 STAY HEALTHY, YOUNG AND WARM THIS WINTER WITH TEPPANYAKI! Natures Edge Buderim is very excited to announce that the alfresco entertainment precinct at the $4 million 5-star Leisure Centre features a Teppanyaki BBQ! Originating in Japan over 200 years ago, Teppanyaki is a cooking style derived from the words teppan (iron plate) and yaki (grilled, boiled or pan-fried) which literally translates into grilling on an iron plate.... This style of cooking is unique because it uses ingredients low in fatty acids and high in protein, prioritising balance and natural flavours. Natures Edge Buderim residents and guests enjoy creating fresh and healthy food to share on the expansive deck overlooking the rainforest.
20.01.2022 Winner winner! The landscaping and stonework around the Leisure Centre has won a Landscape Queensland Ind. Assoc. Inc. Construction Excellence Award!! 20.01.2022 Brian and Lila Thompson love showing off the new Leisure Centre at Natures Edge Buderim to friends. The contemporary design, bespoke finishes and extensive facilities are making quite an impression. The centre has a warm and welcoming feeling. Everything about it speaks of quality workmanship. I love the opulent touchesthe grand piano, busts above the fireplace and the artwork in the hallway, said Brian.... The library is peaceful and tranquil with deep carpets and elegant furnishings. Its the perfect place to sit in the morning with a coffee and the paper. The convenient location and proximity to the coast were drawcards for Brian and Lila, who moved to Natures Edge Buderim to escape the busyness of Brisbane. The well-travelled couple spend several months of the year exploring Australia in their 4WD and caravan and say living at Natures Edge Buderim is like being on holidays. When we return from a trip, we open the patio doors and it feels like we have moved from one holiday location to another, Brian said. Our home is bright and breezy with high ceilings and views to the rainforest, like a holiday house. The active and varied social calendar keeps Lila so busy that she needs a diary to record whats on. There is something on every day. Water aerobics, yoga, film screenings. You could never be bored, she said. We are very happy and content. Natures Edge Buderim is an ideal location with a gorgeous Leisure Centre and I absolutely love our house. Contact the Natures Edge Buderim team today for an inspection of our display homes and tour of the new Leisure Centre! https://www.naturesedgebuderim.com.au/new-leisure-centre-m/

14.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Nature’s Edge Buderim. Residents are gearing up for plenty of festive cheer, as well as looking after those in our community who need it most at this special time of year. In the true spirit of Christmas, the clever quilting group at Nature’s Edge Buderim have recently raised $2,000 for Bloomhill charity by selling their beautiful handcrafted pieces at a recent Christmas market. We made decorations, table runners, soft toys, bon... bons and lots more and sold them at a morning tea where we also raffled four of our quilts, says quilter Margaret Appleton. 13.01.2022 Did you know people with more social connections are happier and healthier? In fact, studies show that having a healthy network of friends can help you live longer, lower your blood pressure and decrease your chances of experiencing depression! While it’s often easier for women to make new friends, recent research suggests it’s just as important for men to form strong male connections, especially as they get older.... Fortunately, making friends has never been easier at Nature’s Edge Buderim over 50’s lifestyle community. Just ask resident Tom Hawke, who meets regularly with other like-minded male residents for a beer and a chat. We just have a few beers and have a good laugh and catch up on what’s happening, says Tom. Sometimes we go to each other’s houses but it’s great to have the Leisure Centre on site. We treat it as our local where we can go and play a game of pool and enjoy a few drinks and we don’t have to drive home afterwards. You meet so many nice people there, the social group just keeps growing and growing. Read the full story on our website by clicking the link below.

10.01.2022 Natures Edge Buderim resident Trish Jordan has the ideal lifestyle, if she doesnt say so herself! Every morning, Trish gets up before 6am to swim in the communitys sparkling 20-metre heated pool, just metres from home. While Trish enjoys the pool, husband John works out in the gym. Once a week, Trish joins other early risers for water aerobics, one of many regular activities held in the new five-star Leisure Centre.... On Friday nights, Trish and John meet friends on the Leisure Centre deck and share a meal in the lush rainforest surrounds. - Moving to Natures Edge Buderim lifestyle village has been life-changing for the couple. Like many retirees, Trish and John sought a tree and sea change when they stopped working eight years ago and moved from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast. This year, they bought a brand-new home at Natures Edge Buderim, lured by the lively social life and the security of a gated community. We have never looked back. The location is so close to everything. We love our home, we like that each house looks different, the rainforest setting and the people. Walking down the street can take an hour because there are so many people to say hello to! says Trish. Lifestyle and fitness were important factors in Trish and Johns decision to buy at Natures Edge Buderim. We can access so many activities within walking distance of home. I just love the pool and am in the water exercising almost every day. I feel so much stronger and fitter. I am fitter now than I was at 50! Theres always uncertainty when you make a big investment. 09.01.2022 Residents at Natures Edge Buderim are discovering the anti-ageing benefits of an active lifestyle paired with Bowen Therapy. As part of a range of health and wellness activities on offer at Natures Edge Buderim, Bowen Therapy is a new service now available. Resident Fay Winter, a former nurse and Bowen Therapist of 16 years, runs her practice out of the Leisure Centre and its proving to be quite a hit with the community. 06.01.2022 ! . Residents are popping up in social media posts wearing their Living on the Edge Natures Edge t-shirts at exotic and interesting locations across the globe, including Jerusalem, Egypt, Greece, China, Canada and beyond. ... Like many great ideas, the t-shirt was conceptualised over a couple of drinks, with resident Ian Thomas coming up with the slogan and neighbour Jayne Turnbull creating the design. A qualified milliner with a keen interest in fashion, Jayne said that the t-shirt challenge had become a fun way for residents to connect through a community Facebook group she started. Like many other residents, Jayne and husband Dirk are keen travellers. Career professionals, they moved to the over 50s lifestyle resort from Magnetic Island two years ago and havent looked back. Jayne and Dirk enjoy the laidback lifestyle, social interaction and gated community that means they can head overseas and know everything is taken care of. Its a very relaxed life with no pressure. We love our home which is so easy to keep clean and maintain. Theres plenty of cupboard space and a good-sized garage. It is the perfect for retirement, Jayne said. Natures Edge Buderim is a family affair for Jayne and sister, Gerrie who also lives in village with her husband Lyall. 06.01.2022 Residents at Natures Edge Buderim are enjoying the many benefits native bees are having on their flourishing gardens at the over 50s lifestyle village. Passionate about sharing how important these stingless little pollinators are for our entire ecosystem, residents Bert and Betty Livingstone, have been keeping native bees for many years and the results can be seen in their vibrant gardens, which are alive with colour. If plants cant be pollinated, thats the end, they jus...t wont produce, says Bert. Native bees developed when Australia was developing as a continent and so did certain trees, which still rely on native bees to pollinate them. Not only do the bees pollinate and harvest in their immediate surrounds, they travel to nearby homes, hence why their neighbours at the over 50s lifestyle village are also reaping the rewards. As nature lovers, the couple were drawn to Natures Edge Buderim because of the lush rainforest surrounds, beautiful landscaped gardens and tranquil walking tracks. The local wildlife is thriving too, especially with a number of nesting boxes recently installed high in the trees to entice additional native wildlife. Built by the members of the communitys nature-loving woodworking team, the boxes supplement areas where the local sugar gliders, possums and rainbow lorikeets can nest. What more could you possibly want? says Betty. We are so lucky to live here. Click the link below to read the full story on our website. https://www.naturesedgebuderim.com.au/the-buzz-at-natures-/
