25.01.2022 #mealplan #tip WHAT IS A CLEANSE ? Our body has a complex detox systems built in:... *skin pushes out bacteria and toxins through the sweat, it is our biggest detox organ *kidneys filter through litres of blood and produce urine that is removing toxins *lungs expel carbon dioxide *intestines extract nutrients from food and excrete waste products *liver clears out toxins from the body A body cleanse or detox diet that involves cutting out junk foods and increasing the intake of nutritious whole foods along with a few powerful detox foods can be an easy way to help the body detox and hit the reset button. Best of all, unlike other detox diets, this kind of natural cleanse won’t drain your energy levels or leave you feeling worn down. Instead, it can boost energy, restore motivation and help you feel your best. If you are eating a diet high in processed foods, you are putting the health of your liver at risk as these foods basically work against liver health. The lymphatic system is the the body’s inner drainage system, a network of blood vessels and lymph nodes that carry fluids from tissues around the body into the blood and vice versa. If you can make your lymphatic system stronger, then you can help your body ward off all kinds of disease and support detoxification. Natural diuretics stimulate the kidneys and help the body get rid of excess fluid. The high fibre content helps support a healthy digestive tract, hastening the elimination of toxins in your body. I have put together a thorough 2 week cleansing plan, check out: https://naturopathkelli.com.au/product/cleanse-meal-plan/

24.01.2022 #Tip LADIES with HOT FLUSHES !!!! Quick tip - reduce the intake of coffee, alcohol (especially red wine), spicy and oven baked warming foods. They are increasing the hottness and make your sweats worse. Instead focus on foods with cooling nature like salads, greens, cucumber, celery, lemon water, herbal teas. This way you are eating in a way that supports your needs and you don't fuel your symptoms. ... Did I just say less wine and less coffee ?? :) Don't hate me now hahaaaa :)

24.01.2022 #Tip CHIA SEEDS They have many benefits for us. Chia seeds support blood sugar control, making sure we feel fuller for longer and avoid snacking. Great for weight loss ! Chia seeds are rich in fibre, which helps keep things moving through the digestive system, allowing waste products to be excreted efficiently. Hence suitable for people who are prone to constipation.... In addition, they are high in antioxidants to fight off free radicals and protect your liver against damage and disease. Add chia seeds to your yoghurt, muesli, smoothies or porridge. Start with 1 teaspoon a day and build it up to 1 tablespoon. You will find info and recipes with chia seeds on my new Cleanse Meal Plan that I am about to launch very very soon ! Yum, Yum !!!

18.01.2022 #Tip Drink green tea regularly to prevent chronic urinary tract infections. It is known for a long time now that green tea contains catechins that have an anti-microbial effect and can be used to prevent urinary tract infections. The overuse of antibiotics worldwide has caused many bacterial strains, including E. coli, which is commonly associated with ... UTIs, to become increasingly drug-resistant, prompting scientists to explore the use of anti-microbial herbs in combination with antibiotics in order to boost their efficacy. Green tea has provent to be successful here. Studies have shown that the effectiveness is enhanced when green tea is administered before bed due to the retention of therapeutic catechins in the bladder overnight. People who are sensitive to caffeine in green tea may choose to drink it earlier or use green tea capsules that are caffeine free (read the label). So another good reason to drink green tea !!! P

17.01.2022 #hairtest So here is a sample report for the Hair testing that reveals fore each client the foods that they should be avoiding (printed in red) and foods that can be eaten (printed in black). The list is constantly updated making sure the popular items are always added, like collagen powder or protein powders and super foods etc. So total is over 620 foods and hosehold items that are tested. This test is using small amount of your hair (can be coloured) to detect what is sui...table for you and what is not. We can never assume that foods that are considered healthy are always suitable for us. It doesnt matter where you are located, the hair can be posted to me, making this test available internationally. Result are discussed over Skype, Zoom, Messenger or phone. Also, I like this test beacause instead of them saying for example that all the dairy is not suitable, they differenciate all the dairy products and test all the versions of milk - full cream, low fat, cows, sheep, goats, even lactose free and plant based etc. So you can always find an alternative if you are not compatible with regular milk. Or with breads, they test all the different categories - white, wholemeal, spelt, rye, sourdough, gluten free etc so again, you can see what you can not have and you can see what you can swap it too. Makes it so simple :) These food swaps are only for short period of time and once the health has improved we are able to re-introduce most of the foods back into the diet. I have tested easily over 300 people so far so I can say that I have fair bit of experience with this test :) Happy to answer any questions.

17.01.2022 #Tip Just another sweet find. Freeze dried strawberry dipped in chocolate.

16.01.2022 #insight #hairtest This is what we have achieved with one of my clients in 4 weeks after testing her for food compatibilities. She has swapped some of her foods around and as you can see the results are very good. How to read the chart? 0 % means no symptom and 100% means extreme symptom.... Arthritis was 40% ---> week 4 is 40% (this is the only symptom that has not changed) Bloating was 40%---> week 4 down to 0-10% Excess mucous was 50%---> week 4 down to 10% Flatulence was 80%---> week 4 down to 10-20% Headaches was 20%---> week 4 down to 0% Rashes/itchy skin was 10%---> week 4 down to 0% Sinus/hayfever was 60%---> week 4 down to 10% Tiredness was 80%---> week 4 down to 10% Digestive upset 60%---> week 4 down to 0% I haven't given her any supplements and very likely she will not need them. In near future we will start reintroducing foods back into her diet. More info on hair testing for food compatibilities on my website: https://naturopathkelli.com.au/testing/

16.01.2022 #recipe Salmon Stuffed Avocado Boats recipe by Kelli Kolar 1 Avocado... 95 grams Canned Wild Salmon 1/4 Lemon (juiced) Salt and pepper to taste Slice the avocado in half and remove the pit. Use a spoon to scoop out enough avocado to create a bigger hole that the salmon will fit into. Transfer scooped out avocado to a small bowl. Drain the salmon and add it to the bowl with the scooped out avocado. Add lemon juice and mash until well mixed. Fill the hollowed out avocado halves with the mashed salmon mixture. Enjoy! Not Wanting to Use Canned Fish For healthiest option use cooked fish fillets and leave the canned fish option for those super busy days. Likes it Spicy Add hot sauce. More exciting Sprinkle with fresh herbs, pine nuts or dukkah. Have Extra 5 Minutes If you have little more time you can add half a chopped up tomato, chopped up onion or garlic and teaspoon of mayonnaise or plain yoghurt.

16.01.2022 #Tip Let's continue on acid/alkaline topic. SPIRULINA - a type of blue-green microalgae that is able to grow in fresh and salt water. It is a clever superfood to add when doing cleansing due to its high levels of nutrients and because it has an alkalising effect on our body.... Spirulina studies have shown that it promotes the growth of healthy bacterial flora in the intestines, which in turn helps to inhibit candida from thriving. Several science reports claim the ability of Spirulina preparations to reduce blood cholesterol levels, stimulate the immunological system, prevent and inhibit cancers, reduce the nephrotoxicity of pharmaceuticals and toxic metals and provide protection against the harmful effects of radiation. These activities are thought to result from the antioxidants produced by Spirulina. In addition, I have noticed my clients commenting on better energy when taking spirulina. It comes in tablets, capsules or powders. I recommend to add a tip of a teaspoon of the powder per serve to every smoothie you make or mix it into dips, yoghurt or raw vegetable juice. !!!! When considering where to buy spirulina, be sure to always purchase from a reputable retailer, I always choose organic for spirulina. It’s absolutely critical to make sure that the quality and purity of the spirulina that you consume is of the highest standards !!!!

16.01.2022 #Tip or more like a reminder. We are about to finish another year and heading towards the new. I am wanting to make sure this message sinks in !!!! Lifestyle changes you make now will impact your health as you age. ... It’s possible to change your life for the better, so you can live longer and without chronic disease, without compromising your quality of life. Do you see yourself living with mental and physical restrictions because of arthritis, dementia or any other chronic issue? Or do you see yourself doing the activites you love with your mind switched on ? I know I will be one of those 94 year olds who can still enjoy life - walks, chats etc instead of waiting for my time to finish. I see a lot of health issues in elderly people that are really just a result of their lifestyle, in my journey I am convinced that the lifestyle beats your genetics. Keep that in mind for yourself !!!! Live Longer, Feel Better!

16.01.2022 #Tip Want to add more protein to your smoothies but do not wish to use protein powder? Here are few options for you: Raw oats Nut butters... Nuts Seeds like hemp, sunflower, pumpkin Raw cacao Spirulina powder Raw egg??? Questionable - it will reduce the absorption of many nutrients in the smoohtie so I would avoid. See more

14.01.2022 #Tip Pomegranate may help you in the following aspects: * Reduce arthritis and joint pain. Arthritis is a common condition characterized by the inflammation of one or more joints, causing pain and stiffness that can worsen with age. Pomegranates are a great source of flavonols, which are a type of antioxidant that act as anti-inflammatory agents in the body and may help relieve symptoms of arthritis.... *Reduces risk of prostate and breast cancer. Multiple in vitro studies have found that pomegranate extracts can effectively inhibit the growth and spread of breast cancer cells and slow down the progression of prostate cancer. *Lower blood pressure. A 2013 study reported that consumption of pomegranate juice could decrease systolic and diastolic blood pressure by 7 percent and 6 percent, respectively, in those with high blood pressure. The effect was noted in 2 weeks. *Improve memory. Studies have reported that polyphenols, which are found abundantly in pomegranate seeds and their juice, could significantly enhance cognitive function. *Increase desire A study by Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh found that consumption of pure pomegranate juice increased salivary testosterone levels by an average of 24 percent, which can lead to heightened mood and increased sexual desire. Do I need to give you any more reasons why to eat pomegranate ??? Get to the fruit shop now and pick yourself a nice juicy Pomegranate :)

14.01.2022 #TIP Bone density and acidity in the body. There are plenty of reasons you may want to cut back on your consumption of acidic foods like - coffee, alcohol, sugary foods, soft drinks, energy drinks, processed and refined foods, grains, dairy, tinned/canned foods, deep fried foods etc. One big reason is your bone density. ... Research has found that a diet rich in acid-forming foods can increase the amount of calcium lost through the urine, leading to a decline in bone density and a higher risk of osteoporosis. One study in Switzerland gave participants either an acidic or alkaline diet and showed that the acidic diet increased the amount of calcium excreted through the urine by 74 percent. So if you care about your teeth and bones I advise you to analyse your diet and make adjustment. Is the alcohol and sweets worthwhile if you are compromising your bones ? Both of my meal plans have a strong focus on lowering acidity and providing calcium and mineral rich foods. PS. Ofcourse there are other factors to the bone density too but this post is focusing on dietary side of things.

14.01.2022 #hairtest FOOD COMPATIBILITY TESTING This is an effective and simple way to discover what foods each person should eat or avoid (620+ foods and body products are tested). This test uses small amount of hair and picks up low grade aggravating foods that can affect our health. It is difficult to detect these aggravating foods by any other method because the symptoms can be very delayed and they build up over the time.... Over the years in practice I have observed how people are becoming more and more reactive towards foods and for this reason the testing has become an important cornerstone in my approach. I see great improvements in health by correcting the foods. WHO BENEFITS Test is suitable for the following health issues: * Digestive IBS, bloating, gas, reflux, constipation, diarrhoea, cramping, abdominal pains, nausea, sluggish digestion * Skin acne, rosacea, dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, hives, rashes, itchy skin * Respiratory asthma, hay fever, sinusitis, congestion, mucous, post nasal drip, persistent cough * Behavioural ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression * Headaches migraines, brain fog * Energy tiredness, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, sleeping disorders * Hormones PMS, thrush, imbalances *Chronic inflammatory conditions arthritis, body aches and pains. WHAT IS TESTED This hair test covers over 620 foods and household items: Vegetables and sprouts Fruits and berries Nuts and seeds Oils and fats Meats Seafoods Dairy Lactose free products Eggs Breads, wraps, cereals, pasta Gluten free products Sugars, salts Drinks Alcohols Snacks Condiments, sauces, spreads Health foods Common supplements Protein powders Household items Body products Metals Petro chemicals Fibres HOW TO GET THE TEST DONE? I work online so you would post your hair to me. I will send it off to the lab and from there it takes approximately 1-2 weeks to get the results. Once we have the electronic report we will schedule a time to do the report discussion online (via Zoom, Skype etc). Simple. PS. Photos are for illustration purposes only. Not sure if this is the right test for you ? Happy to have a chat with you to help you decide.

12.01.2022 #find Another new product that I have found and liked. It is organic, not sweet and has good flavour. Plus I like the container that is reusable. I found it in Coles.

12.01.2022 #Tip BENEFITS OF A CELERY Anti-inflammatory and urinary tract support.... *Celery contains various antioxidants and polysaccharides that help reduce inflammation and fight free radical damage (or oxidative stress) that can lead to cellular damage and inflammation. Researchers have identified over a dozen different types of nutritional compounds and antioxidants that are responsible for the benefits of celery products. These include phenolic acids like caffeic acid and ferulic acid, plus flavanols like quercetin. Due to its inflammation-lowering potential, celery may be useful for treating a wide range of conditions that are made worse by inflammation, including: joint pain (such as from arthritis) gout kidney and liver infections skin disorders irritable bowel syndrome *Because celery helps reduce uric acid and stimulates urine production, it’s beneficial for fighting bacterial infections within the digestive tract, urinary tract and reproductive organs. Similar to cranberries, which are known for fighting urinary tract infections (UTIs), celery may help prevent UTIs, as well as bladder disorders, kidney problems and possibly even cysts on reproductive organs. So eat more celery as a snack, juice or add it to your salads. You can find celery recipes here on my page.

08.01.2022 #insight SINUS, CONGESTION, HAYFEVER Another success today with 63 years old lady who had chronic sinus issues measured 75% bad from 100%. I tested her for food compatibilities across 620 items, removed the ones she was reacting to and after one week of swapping these foods around she started feeling better. Today was week 7 and she said it is now 0-5% only. She doesn't need any extra vitamins or supplements, we just swapped some foods around to suit her needs. ... I love the power of foods !!! So how does this work? I need a small sample of your hair. I send it to the Australian lab that specialises in food compatibility testing*. We get the food report in 1-2 weeks time. We discuss the results, answer your questions, I teach you how to use the report and we swap unsuitable foods around to something you like. We observe how your symptoms improve and at this stage we do not introduce any supplements. The foods need to be swapped around only temporarily and most often you are able to reintroduce most of the foods back into your diet. This is the best approach I have ever used to get the sinus congestion under control with long term results instead of constantly using band aids like sinus rinses and anti-histamines. * food compatibility test - this testing detects what foods and items each person is compatible with and what they should avoi. It reveals low grade "sneaky" chronic aggravators that are often linked to sinus and congestion issues.

07.01.2022 #Tip #Recipe Brussels sprouts. ... Brussels sprouts have a surprisingly high amount of protein for a vegetable, similar to their other leafy greens and cruciferous vegetable family members. On top of this, Brussels sprouts can help you to reach a healthy weight, give you more energy, aid in muscle growth, improve your eyesight and complexion and reduce the risk of colon cancer. The studies show high levels of inflammation are directly linked to increased risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes and neurodegenerative disorders. Brussels sprouts have anti-inflammatory properties and contain vitamin K, vitamin C, various antioxidants and even small amounts of omega-3 fatty acids. These vitamins, antioxidants and omega-3s work together to keep arteries clear of dangerous plaque buildup, lower cholesterol levels, fight high blood pressure, increase blood flow and maintain healthy, strong blood vessels. In addition, I recommend brussel sprouts for these ladies who have issues with female hormones and need to lower their risks of breast cancer. Eggs with brussel sprouts. Ingredients 2 tbsps Butter (divided) 3 cups Brussels Sprouts (trimmed and halved) 1/2 tsp Sea Salt 4 Eggs Directions 1. Heat half the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook brussels sprouts until tender and crispy, about 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Season with salt and transfer to plates. 2. Heat remaining butter over medium heat and fry the eggs.

06.01.2022 Wooooow didn't realise how quickly that went. Had a mini break on the Sunshine Coast to get some sun and ocean. And of course here is my version of a big breakfast :)

05.01.2022 Chronic pain sufferers this is for you !!! I have some really really good news for these people who have suffered chronic pain. Finally there are some new natural products on the market that have been very promising, well tolerated and can be taken long term. I have had good feedback from my clients with sciatica, fibromyalgia, arthritis, bursitis, bulging discs, nerve pains, and other pains.... I have a personal history with lots of pain so I understand how it feels to the point you would like to strangle someone, how it affects you emotionally, how you can feel frustrated because of not being able to do the things you would like. I have a very close family member who has massive challenges in pain management and on top of that I have worked in the area where I have had lots of elderly clients with chronic conditions where we need to manage pain and inflammation. So yes, I have fair bit of experience with that. In pain management I can recommend specific dietary changes and specific supplements for either nerve pain, muscle tension pain or inflammatory pain. Some people experience only one of them when other have all of them. Please know that there are several options out there for you, you do not need to suffer !!! Maybe you can not tolerate pain killers anymore, maybe they don't work anymore or you just want to try out natural approach. Talk to me, I might be able to help you !!!

04.01.2022 #Tip Table salt versus Himalayan salt Pink Himalayan salt has all kinds of nutritional and therapeutic properties. It can contain over 84 minerals and trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. This is why the colour can range from light pink to darker red. You can use this salt on your foods but also to create homemade body scrubs and bath soaks.... Table salt is very heavily processed, eliminating its minerals and may have some iodine only because it has been added. Commercial table salt is typically 97.5 percent to 99.9 percent sodium chloride. Many health issues are linked to the overconsumption of table salt. It makes the body acidic. This is the salt your doctor may have advised you to reduce. Meanwhile, a high-quality unrefined salt like Himalayan sea salt may be only about 87 percent sodium chloride and the rest is the variety of minerals. So this is much better balance for your health. So my recommendation is to swap the salt to Himalayan and treat it as your mineral "supplement". Think now - human tears, blood, sweat, lympth - they are all salty so we need salt, it just has to be the right type. Even animals get fed salt. And if you are worried about your iodine, you can always eat iodine rich foods. Nom, nom.

03.01.2022 #Tip Watch the video for more info. Epsom salt foot bath and full body bath. The sulfates in Epsom salt assist the body in flushing out toxins. That provides heavy metal detox from the body’s cells. This can help lower the internal accumulation of harmful substances. ... Magnesium in the Epsom salts help to recover muscles, relax the body and mind, and improve your sleep quality. For an Epsom salts bath, add at least two cups of Epsom salt to bathwater and soak for 20-40 minutes total. The first 20 minutes give your body time to remove toxins from your system, while the last 20 minutes allow you to absorb the minerals in the water. If you like it a bit fancy, add some essential oils ;) This is one of the many other tips that I give on my Cleansing Meal plan alongside the cleansing recipes.

02.01.2022 #Tip ACID-ALKALINE Balance in Your Diet This is one of the most important concepts and practices in maintaining a healthy body+mind and in preventing inflammation and aging. ... Acidity turns into inflammation and inflammation turns into chronic conditions - arthritis, eczema, dermatitis, cardiovascular problems, sinus problems, tiredness, poor concentration etc. WHY ? A diet which consists of 70-80% alkaline-forming foods, will keep eliminative, immune and nervous systems strong, organs working and you are able to work and relax easily. On the other hand a diet that is too acidic leads to more tissue, organ and body congestion and inflammation. It wears you down, slows you down. Each food when metabolized in the body breaks down into acid or alkaline elements. In general - fruits and vegetables, green herbs are alkalizing because they contain lots of minerals. On the other hand, processed foods, meats, dairy, sugary foods and grains are acid forming and are taxing your body. A diet too high in acid-forming foods will produce excessive mucus, which fuels the growth of bacteria and viruses. When having too much mucous, the body wants to eliminate it through colds, sinus problems, skin rashes which are often mistakenly seen as the illness itself rather than symptoms or the body’s attempt to heal. The real problem lies more with the diet and its overall balance or imbalance. Now, get to the kitchen and make yourself a nice big bowl of salad with lots of green leafy vegetables and garden herbs !!! #
