23.01.2022 Healing takes TIME - most of us are working on health issues that we’ve been experiencing for awhile. And while our bodies are amazing at healing it won’t happen overnight or in 1 week if these issues have been around for months or years. If you’re working on making changes to habits & beliefs, give yourself the time to make this happen & don’t put so much pressure on yourself to achieve it in an unrealistic time frame - this can just increase our stress & anxiety. ... Just keep heading in the direction you want & accept that it will take time and it likely won’t be in a straight line - you’ll have ups & downs along the way & that’s ok! 23.01.2022 Feeling like you need to have everything sorted/healed/achieved NOW? This pressure we put on ourselves to have/be what we want & expect it to happen NOW - can cause us a lot of anxiety & overwhelm & take the enjoyment out of life. Give yourself permission to let things take TIME - this is especially important when we’re working on our health. ... Many health issues & symptoms develop over TIME and while your body is amazing at healing, it’s good to remind ourselves that this also takes time and won’t always be in a ‘straight’ line - there’ll likely be ups & downs along the way. But that’s ok, just keep heading in the direction you desire and give yourself time & REST along the way. Learning to ENJOY the PROCESS will make for a more enjoyable life! 19.01.2022 Those of us who are born into privilege need to get uncomfortable & educate ourselves if we want to help - we are part of the problem & the solution. Of course ‘all lives matter’ but white people aren’t the ones being discriminated against - it’s not about us. And thinking we’re exempt from taking action because we are not racist is unfortunately not enough if we truly want everyone to have equality. This is where I was at recently but now I’m seeing how we have to acti...vely be part of the change. And this is not just happening in USA, it’s here and everywhere. Privilege allows us to do nothing or be silent - but by omission or inaction or staying unaware, we are supporting the oppression that exists. I’m not sure exactly what to do or say yet, but speaking up & educating ourselves is a start. 10.01.2022 Want to know the best diet for YOU? What suits YOU and your INDIVIDUAL body! And move away from 'dieting' - listen to how foods make YOU feel and choose more of the foods that make you feel your best - in regards to your ... ENERGY, DIGESTION and MOOD. Focus on QUALITY Foods and NUTRIENTS over calories, as this is what your body needs to function at its best. While there are certain guidelines to a 'healthy' diet (eat unprocessed foods most of the time, choose local/seasonal/fresh foods, include quality fats and protein, minimise sugar) we can all respond differently to foods and ways of eating - so it's great to learn what works for others and educate yourself on nutrition from qualified sources - but also LISTEN to your body and work out what suits YOU best. 08.01.2022 Do you have any daily ROUTINES or rituals? These can really help to REDUCE daily overwhelm by reducing some of the decisions we need to make, and creating some structure and certainty. Our brains love familiarity... Some of my top daily routines include: Prioritising sleep and having regular sleep hours Starting the day with stretching or a walk Not looking at social media as soon as I wake up Eating a breakfast with protein and fat I'm currently trying to be more consistent with journaling and meditation before bed, even if it's 5 minutes. This used to be my daily struggle for many years, and it was super STRESSFUL, LONELY and EXHAUSTING. Although I could still function, it was not an enjoyable way to live. 01.01.2022 Do you agree?! When I was really struggling with anxiety years ago, I would definitely not agree with this statement, and could not imagine how anyone could enjoy life with anxiety. I was on a mission for years to completely eliminate all anxious feelings forever! Of course this is not possible, and once I accepted that anxiety would be a part of my life to some degree, this acceptance actually made a big difference in how anxious I felt.... Of course anxiety should not be controlling your life, but it can be a normal part of life that comes & goes, and can be your body’s way of telling you that something needs to change. Over the years from my own experience & from studying to be a Naturopath, I’ve found numerous treatments & tools that can help ease & manage anxiety so that you can live the life you desire!
