24.01.2022 I feel like this is a question that I am asking multiple times a day. Our current climate has proven to be more challenging that we could have ever imagined. So lets strip this back for a moment. The common theme at the moment is loneliness. Human interaction and in person connection is not freely available to us. Some of us live with others, some do not. Our pride often gets in the way of recognising or accepting that we feel lonely. ... Loneliness is not a new concept. In fact, loneliness is deeper and more challenging when you are feeling like this with a group of people. Its just that right now, logistically, in Victoria.... its not possible. How do we remedy this? Honestly, its through connection. I had a beautiful conversation with a stranger in Woolworths this morning. Another with a stranger walking past my house as I was painting my fence last week. We can find little ways to connect to another human being and it lightens our hearts just a little. I urge you to reach out today and simply share a story, crack a joke or linger at the checkout to feel that connection with another person. We will get through this. Connection is key! See more
23.01.2022 I know I am not alone here!!! What I know to be true for me is that I kind of like that "adrenaline like" hit of a strong coffee and a "hit the ground running" morning. Occasionally! What I also know to be true for me is that it is not sustainable! Relying on my first love, I mean coffee, to get me out of bed every morning is not a healthy way to exist. It is important for me to notice when I have fallen into a habit or an addictive relationship. ... This can happen with food too! 22.01.2022 I freaking love raw desserts!!! They satisfy that sweet craving but in a more balanced kind of way! I usually make this cheesecake into mini cups that are only a few bites each. 22.01.2022 Honestly, we don't actually realise what anxiety is! It is often, not until we actually step back from the situation and look at it from the outside in. Do you often replay conversations in your head, are you reluctant to try something new or do you often feel a bit wobbly in every day life. All of these can often be a form of anxiety. Anxiety is such a multifaceted issue and actually impacts many body systems! The gut- this can sped up or slow down during an anxious momen...t, often resulting in an urgency to use the toilet or a feeling of nausea. The mind- we can lose our peripheral vision and only see what is in front of us. The mind gets internally laser focused and will often replay the last thing that you did. OR we can have trouble concentrating, forgetting things and muddling things up. The body- anxiety is a feeling, so we feel it in our limbs sometimes too! They get jittery and then heavy from the glycogen dumped into our blood stream to get ready to flee. The thing is, until we really assess it, we are not truly aware of how much impact even mild anxiety can have on our lives. See this as an OPPORTUNITY to discover what your body is telling you. 20.01.2022 Still often guilty! Today, for something different though, I released an eBook that I had been hiding on my laptop. Well its of no bloody use there!!! ... I spent so much time creating it, making the actual food and then teaching how to prepare the desserts that I was exhausted at the time to release it! Yesterday I made a variation of the caramel slice and had so many people asking for the recipe that I checked to see if I had it in a PDF. When I discovered an entire recipe book, for once, I didnt overthink it, I just let it out! The result.... spreading the love through a community that are struggling. Rather than opting for another batch of sourdough during lockdown, lets set ourselves up with incredible raw desserts while we spend our time finding ways to nourish ourselves! See more
19.01.2022 Leaky brain, neuroinflammation.... all contribute to our mental health balance. Yes, there are MANY things that we can do to help ourselves from home. 18.01.2022 Last week sucked! It was like the mother of all hump weeks. I reached for the refined carbs... the gin... then the self pity. I knew that a mid week gin was not the answer, nor was the bread like foods I ate. Yet I did it anyway. Then I felt worse. If I have a drink, my sleep is disrupted.... When I eat wheat, my body feels inflamed and sore, plus my head is foggy. I knew all of these things and still, I reached for the dopamine hit that those substances would bring. The defining moment is what did I do next? Yesterday I turned a corner. I nourished my body, I nurtured it and essentially apologised to . Yesterday was a plant based day, plenty of water, rest and gentle movement. Today is a whole new day, where I choose to continue to nourish, restore and move. You have the opportunity to change your direction at any time. These many little moments make up change, results and strength. See more
17.01.2022 This lockdown has brought a deeper understanding of who I am. I can find the joy and the beauty in the little things. I can become frustrated at the way my kids can resist learning, but know that it irritates something within me. I can take space, reset and begin again, in a way that I could never before. I can feel the warmth of the sun, take a real breath and reset in a way never before imaginable.... Yes I get frustrated. Yes I get confused. Yes I have my internal political debates. But every day I show up to those who need me, in a way that I simply could not have last year. Yep 2020 sucks, but my goodness, the personal growth is OFF THE CHARTS! I now recognise the subtle joy as well as the embodied joy.... You? See more

17.01.2022 Yes, I joke around a little, I dont apologise for this anymore. Sometimes I get a bit sweary when I get passionate (I do get passionate a bit....) I no longer apologise for this either! I am simply ridiculously grateful that I get to walk with you for a while to be there while you truly discover what it feels like to calm the f down a bit. When clients tell me that they- No longer wake in the night with a feeling of dread... No longer feel their heart racing when they get t...o the checkout... No longer decline invitations out, due to the crippling impact of their mind has on their body.... OR No longer feel exhausted all day, only to be wide awake most of the night... It feels amazing! 11.01.2022 Be honest, what is the most bizarre thing you have purchased online in lockdown. Im going to be super honest and say that htis week has been a bit tumultuous and I may or may not have ordered ALL of the food deliveries..... platters, coffee beans, aquarium plants..... My most shocking delivery was a "tapestry" for my sons wall in his (eventually) renovated room. Wall sized turned out to be sheet sized. He now has a lovely forrest sheet........ You? What has been your most prized or ridiculous iso purchase.... bonus points for pics!

09.01.2022 He just can not help himself! I get it, some days I catch myself standing in front of my herb wall too. I actually really like having it at home. Fluffy cracks me up though. I think he was a practitioner in n a past life! He seems to appear anytime I am having a deep conversation or a practitioner meeting.... Last night, working on my husbands neck and shoulder, he felt the need to jump up and sit on hubbys back. Is it possible that what they are saying could be true? Is it just a little bit possible that there is a whole other reason?... We have had some incredible tunes during isolation AND some incredible arguments.... We can feel irrational and even mean. 06.01.2022 Mini caramel slices made from raw ingredients. When I am cleaning up my food choices, I am not so naive that I think its a good idea to go cold turkey! Especially in remote learning, lockdown environment! So this week I am spending time filling my fridge and freezer with nutrient dense snacks so that I am well prepared for the hangry feeling. While my diet hasnt been too bad, it could definitely do with some tweaking. My middle age seems to be spreading and spring is rig...ht around the corner. 05.01.2022 My in-laws move in with us very soon and there is still so much to be done to get their part of the house ready. Part of me is ridiculously happy to have a project to work on. The other part of me is literally functioning on caffeine to get through all of the painting and rubbish removal. Who knew that you could still get a skip under stage 4 restrictions. Grateful but EXHAUSTED! I may not have access to a gym but my goodness, my body is feeling well worked today!!!
04.01.2022 Right! We have spent the week processing, feeling frustrated, angry and down trodden. Its time to rebuild! I notice that when I sit in anger and frustration, it feels difficult to enjoy anything. Things that I would normally enjoy feel shallow and I just cant always get into it. The thing is though, is that its the path back. Back to feeling calm and centred. Back to joy and light heartedness. ... So if you, like me, have had a bit of a week (its been a bit of a shit show tbh) find one thing! One thing that used to bring you joy, makes you smile or simply feels nourishing. It may feel heavy, thick and take a bit to get into but it will help you shift. What would you suggest for a friend right now? I bet it would be filled with kindness, compassion and nourishment. 04.01.2022 Experience and failure are what truly create growth. You can google the information, read incredible books or even enrol in next level trainings, but it means nothing unless you take action! Growth feels a bit yuck sometimes, ok most of the time. 03.01.2022 Considering that we practically preview, live and review EVERYTHING, how can it not be exhausting! When we stimulate the stress response by thought alone (yes, not only is it possible, it is common!) it’s hard work! Think of one single stressful situation and the impact it has on the body, then replay it several times.... The amount of nutrients it takes to get through one stressful event is huge, let alone repeatedly. 02.01.2022 What you can do from home if you are experiencing pain and numbness in your wrists and hands. Gently release the surrounding muscles. Avoid foods that exacerbate the condition. Drink plenty of water. Feast on essential fatty acids and a plant based diet.
01.01.2022 True story! Every so often my mind gets stuck. I can loop around and around on a particular topic. In fact it happened the other night while I was supposed to be sleeping. Years ago, this would gave stopped me from sleeping for most of the night. Something changed! What I love about lockdown is how selfish I can be around processing my thoughts and feelings. I can find learnings in the most mundane tasks and lessons in the frustration. So recently, I have begun working on a ...new project. Its a process around clearing those persistent looping thoughts. Its a process that takes the attention away from those thoughts and creates a positive change within the body. Its a work in progress but taking my attention away from the midnight problem, settled my mind. My heart rate decreased, my heart felt less constricted and I found more ease in my breathing. Creativity is an incredible tool in focusing those active thoughts.... What can you spend your time creatively working on? See more
01.01.2022 One of the lesser discussed anxiety symptoms is the fact that we often find ourselves looping conversations in our head. We replay then, evaluate them and do it all over again. The amount of times that I have heard a client say "I thought that was just me" is astonishing. Its not just you!!! The biggest issue here, is when we make meaning out of things that may have had nothing to do with us! Perfect example is in the school yard. Remember back to a time that a good friend p...assed you by and didn't acknowledge that you were there? Cue thoughts of "What did I do?" "Is she angry with me?" or "OMG we are not friends any more!?!" You may have stewed on this for the best part of the day.... Simple fact may be that she simply slipped over in front of a boy she liked and embarrassed herself. She was so caught up in her embarrassment that she simply didn't see you, the situation had NOTHING to do with you! We can make meaning out of everything and anything.
