25.01.2022 Its the weekend... I can totally take a nap if I want to take a nap! (Please note, I will only take a nap if my baby takes a nap)

24.01.2022 Why invest in a naturopathic consult? Did you know that an initial naturopathic consult runs for one hour? During this hour we discuss everything about your health, from mental and emotional wellbeing, right down to the nitty gritty, in's and out's of the physical body. (Yup, I'm talking about things like poop)! At the end of a consult, you'll be given a personalised treatment plan offering dietary and lifestyle support. Investing in a consult also means you have access to... a wider range of herbs and nutritional supplements that are only available with a prescription. Invest in your health, by investing in a naturopathic consult. xox

24.01.2022 This makes me so happy!!!

24.01.2022 Self care is so underrated these days. Either we're just too busy to find the time, or we get a bad case of mum guilt, and go and do a load of washing instead. These are some simple, yet effective affirmations that I'm sure most of us could take a few minutes out of our day to practice. xox

24.01.2022 Up all night with my littlest love time to hit the magnesium (and maybe a large coffee)! Just because you’re breastfeeding, doesn’t mean you can’t take certain supplements! If you’re a mum who is unsure about what you can and can’t take, come have a chat! #mundaringvillagepharmacy #mundaringvillage #mumlife #perthhills #naturopath #healthylifestyle

23.01.2022 So disappointing to see all of the beautiful plants stolen from the cart outside our Pharmacy such a shame someone felt the need to do this.

23.01.2022 Hopefully you're all managing to get out and soak up some of the sunshine today, before the rain returns this afternoon! Did you know that vitamin D, aka the 'Sunshine Vitamin' can significantly help to reduce the effects of depression? There is a dramatic deficiency in vitamin D amongst Australians, possibly because we are so sun cautious. Exposing your arms and legs to sunlight for as little as 30 minutes a day can help to increase your absorption of vitamin D3. If you feel that your vitamin D levels may be low, come in and have a chat and see how we can help you. Xox

20.01.2022 For some of you, the dreaded hayfever season has already started Itchy eyes, weepy eyes, itchy throat, dripping nose, endless fits of sneezing... so much fun. If you're not keen on living off antihistamines for the spring and summer months, then here are some alternative options to help you get through the season: 1. Minimize pro - inflammatory foods such as red meats and saturated fats. Specifically steer away from dairy products, as this will contribute to mucous product...ion. 2. Take a probiotic. The LGG strain has been found to help reduce symptoms of allergic rhinitis. 3. Dose up on vitamin C and bioflavanoids to help reduce histamine release and lower inflammation. 4. Consider herbs such as Albizia, Golden seal, Echinacea and Elderberry as amazing alternatives to the standard antihistamine. If hayfever has got you bad this year, then come in and have a chat and see what else I can do to help! xox

18.01.2022 Hey Mamas, quick question. Are you taking magnesium? If the answer is no, then it's time to start! It might not make your daily to do list any shorter, but it will certainly help to support your body's energy levels to help get you through the day. 18.01.2022 August 26 is Dog Appreciation Day! This is my faithful sidekick and fur baby Izzy Shes a dingo/whippet cross who we adopted from Broome. I actually cant imagine not having her by my side every day

18.01.2022 Today is R U OK day. What a year 2020 has been so far. I mean, if we could get a refund, that would be great! COVID-19 has brought about some challenging circumstances for a lot of us. For me, it was giving birth to my new baby girl in the midst of a pandemic. I'm lucky enough to have had amazing support from my husband, parents and in-laws, but not everyone is so fortunate. If you know someone who is struggling with the up's and down's of life, please remember to check in ...with them and ask, "are you ok". This simple question could make a world of difference to them. 18.01.2022 Winter special coming soon!

17.01.2022 Herb of the week: St Mary's thistle The queen of liver herbs! I use this lovely herb in many of my herbals. (Let's be honest, we could all do with a bit of support for our livers)!... 17.01.2022 Winter is coming... I know, I know, another lame Game of Thrones line, but seriously, Winter IS coming, which means cold and flu season is coming! Here's a few tips on some ways to avoid catching the lurgie this Winter:... 1. Start dosing yourself up on a good immune support product. Anything with olive leaf, echinacea, andrographis, astragalus or holy basil is great! 2. Keep some ionic silver on hand at home. This is a great thing to take if you do get sick. Remember not to take it long term, but just for the duration of the cold or flu. 3. Manage your stress levels! High stress is bound to result in some sort of illness. 4. Experiment with bone broth in your cooking. Bone broth is super high in nutrients such as zinc and magnesium, and is great for immune health. If you're struggling with your immunity this cold and flu season, pop by to discuss a personalised treatment plan.

16.01.2022 Mixing up herbal formulas for clients is one of my favorite things to do as a naturopath. The process of preparing a personalized formula for an individual feels so traditional and is what healers did back in the old days. Yes, I get called a witch while I’m mixing herbs but I still love this method of treatment! #mundaringvillagepharmacy #mundaringvillage #perthhills #naturopath #healthyliving

14.01.2022 Seriously, how cool is Mother Nature!?

13.01.2022 Are you someone who needs coffee before anyone can speak to you in the morning? Or are you finding you're relying on caffeine to get you through the day? If the answer is yes, then your adrenals might not be running to their full capacity. Signs of adrenal fatigue include: 1. General fatigue or tiredness... 2. Difficulty losing weight or weight gain 3. Poor immunity 4. Low mood or anxiety 5. Hormonal problems If you tick any of these symptoms, then it might be time to have your adrenals looked at. There's even the option of having your adrenal hormone levels tested through saliva. Come have a chat for more information! xox

Here's to longer days of sunshine and warmth

12.01.2022 2020 has been an extremely stressful year for all of us, and someone just told me that it's only 3 months until Christmas If you suffer from high stress or anxiety, there are some beautiful herbs and supplements you can consider taking to help ease the side effects of stress. Think herbs like passion flower, lemon balm and zizyphus. Think supplements such as magnesium and B vitamins. These are a safe and non-addictive option to help get us through the mania that has been this year! If you're not sure what might be the best option for you, come by and have a chat! 10.01.2022 I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the greatest at promoting my business on social media. I studied to be a naturopath and help people to reach their health goals and feel better within themselves, not how to create a post that will get the most likes. However, social media is the way of the future, so yesterday I attended a full day seminar on how I can manage my business more efficiently, and in turn give my patients the best results possible. I'm looking forward to sharing a lot more content with you all in the upcoming future, and in the meantime, remember to do something every day that makes you feel good, and always, always be intentional. xox

09.01.2022 Herbal medicine is one of my favourite treatment modalities! Herbs have such amazingly powerful yet gentle healing actions, and can be used for many different conditions. Ill often dispense liquid herbal formulas for my clients, as they are easily absorbed and take effect quickly. The formulas are individually prepared for every person, meaning no one formula is the same... The one drawback? They may not taste wonderful, but as you can see, Ashley managed to keep hers down Herbal formulas are available at Mundaring Village Pharmacy

02.01.2022 Are you breathing properly? No, it's not a trick question. The truth is, most of us are actually not breathing the way our bodies were designed to! If you ever watch a child sleeping, you'll notice their tummies go up and down with each breath. Most adults will only breathe into their chest. Poor breathing can contribute to low mood, poor sleep, tight muscles, and foggy brain! On the flip side, the correct breathing technique can lower blood pressure, reduce anxiety and incr...ease energy! So here's how to breathe properly: 1. Breathe in through your nose 2. Take this breath right down into your belly (so that you feel your belly push out) 3. Slowly exhale out through your nose

02.01.2022 Now that the kiddos are back to school, its time for mummas to put themselves first for a change! Take the opportunity to get fit, change your diet, boost your energy levels, or aspire to whatever goals you have for yourself! Make 2019 a year for healthy changes!! Xox
