23.01.2022 If you live in Melbourne you simply must have a footy team, right? Some months ago Tracey (St Kilda) and Rohan (Essendon) decided that if Calvin wouldn't nominate a team for himself, then they would pick one for him, based on which of of their respective teams won the next time they met. The "Calvin Cup" was held on Friday night with the Bombers emerging victors. We think he looks great in his new team gear....

21.01.2022 Something’s different this year Instead of a payment summary, you might receive an ‘income statement’. So what does that mean for you at tax time? If you us...e a tax agent, you don’t need to do anything; they’ll have access to the info so they can lodge your tax return. If you lodge your own return, you can access your income statement by logging into our online services through myGov. Top tip: Wait until your employer marks your info as ‘tax ready’ in myGov before you lodge (they should get it done before 31 July 2019). Your other info will be pre-filled in your return by mid-August. Find out more at www.ato.gov.au//Working-as-/Accessing-your-payment-summary

21.01.2022 The team let their creative juices flow yesterday afternoon as part of our Christmas festivities (we should perhaps stick to accounting). And what do you do after staring at each other all afternoon? Head to dining in the dark where we couldn’t see each other at all On behalf of the entire team we wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Years. We are all taking a break and will be back on deck on the 13th January.

20.01.2022 It's amazing who clients can introduce you to! This little lady is part of an animal rescue project after her mum was killed by a car.

12.01.2022 The crew had a great night out celebrating the End of Financial Year over the weekend with a Japanese themed night including Teppanyaki followed by Karaoke. ** All photos and videos of Karaoke have been banned from public consumption by popular vote!!

11.01.2022 For those who like to use Xero on the go, this is good news.

10.01.2022 Someone went to Bali and thought we would look good in silly hats! I think she is pretty pleased with herself....

10.01.2022 If you’re one of the 5.6 million Aussies with private health insurance, heads up funds are no longer legally required to send out annual statements. Some may ...do it anyway, and others will provide statements via their online member portals. Either way, they’ll send us the relevant details so we can pre-fill your tax return for you Whether you lodge with myTax or use a tax agent, your health insurance details should be pre-filled by 20 July so hold off and lodge later if you can! Find out more at www.ato.gov.au//pr/your-private-health-insurance-statement

10.01.2022 Attention All Ute Owners: For a long time what 'minor and in frequent' in relation to the Fringe Benefits Tax Exemption (FBT) has been open to interpretation. The tax office have now clarified their view. Broadly speaking a ute will be exempt from FBT where it is under 1 tonne and the private use is limited to 1,000 kilometres a year and that no single private journey exceeds 200km (excluding home to work travel.

05.01.2022 Employers: Remember the due date to provide your employees with their payment summaries is 14 July. As the date falls on a weekend this year, you have until the... next business day to get it done. You need to provide a payment summary to each employee even if you weren’t required to withhold any tax. For more information, visit ato.gov.au/paygsummaries
