22.01.2022 ANZAC Day is one of the most important days for Australians and New Zealanders. It is a day where both countries commemorate and honour the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who fought in the Battle of Gallipoli 1915. So on the 25th of April, Australians get together to acknowledge and remember the sacrifices of our servicemen and women. Typically, commemorative services are held at dawn and involve prayers, laying of wreaths, the Last Post (a song... that is played on a brass instrument at military funerals and ANZAC events), and a period of silence to respect and reflect those who lost their lives fighting for their country. In response to advice from the Australian Government due to concerns around Covid-19, group gatherings have been cancelled. BUT this does not mean that Anzac Day is cancelled. A live broadcast of the National Commemorative Service will be hosted on ABC: 5.30am: Live broadcast of the National Memorial Service from the Australian War Memorial on ABCTV, ABC Radio and online commences 6.00am: The Last Post and a minute of silence, where you can pay your respect at the same time as your local community 11.30am: Two-minute reflection which includes The Ode, The Last Post followed by a minute silence across ABCTV, ABC Radio and online 6.55pm: The Governor-General, David Hurley Anzac Day message on ABCTV and ABC Radio

18.01.2022 At Navitas English, the health and safety of students and staff is paramount. The general advice we are receiving in terms of the novel coronavirus is that we should be aware and alert, but not alarmed. We continue to monitor and follow advice from the Department of Health (https://www1.health.gov.au//Cont/ohp-novel-coronavirus.htm) and have updated our advice to students who have returned from Hubei Province or been in contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus. These s...tudents should isolate themselves in their home for 14 days (other than seeking medical care). These students need to closely monitor their health and seek medical advice immediately if they feel unwell. After the 14 day period students should return to college if they have not developed any symptoms of the virus.
