11.01.2022 MOORING REMINDER Please any of you with swing moorings please never assume your mooring lines are ok After any strong winds or extreme weather please go out and check the condition of the main lines. ... Rope wears out very quickly even over night! You may have only replaced it last week but strong winds overnight may have worn it 50% or more, might only need one more night of bad weather and it could be a picture of your boat in a compromising position and not where you left it. This is real and it is happening to people we know. Stay safe everyone.

03.01.2022 So doing a lil airport watching this morning waiting for a flight to Mackay QLD Looking at a progressive hull repair on a domestic commercial vessel and doing a prepurchase inspection on a yacht We travel anywhere in Qld, Australia and overseas to inspect vessel for our clients... New builds, existing vessels Commercial and recreational craft Just because you may be buying a new vessel, dont be fooled that defects dont exist. THEY DO!

02.01.2022 Looks like we are going to have a weekend of rain and overcast skys for at least the next few days. If your vessel relies on solar power to keep your batteries topped up you may want to check your battery banks and charge status to ensure you have sufficient reserve battery power, particularly in wet and stormy weather. Also remember to regularly test your bilge pumps operation.... Wait dont just flick the switch and listen for the pump noise, thats not a test! If your bilge is dry (as they all should be) throw some water in it and test your bilge pump discharge properly. I see many vessels where a bilge pump electric motor may make noise BUT do not actually pump water. yea i know who would of though that pump installed 3+ years ago would fail? Reality is they do in fact i might change the name from bilge pump to politician pump they all work when new then they get old and worn and just make noise but in reality nothing ever comes out or if it does its only a dribble. Please stay safe and test all your politician pumps for me And post a picture of your politician pumps a gold star for the best and worst Over and out
