We approached the scholarship a little differently this year in the hope we can extend the reach of the scholarship to include the full range of diversity of our membership & ensure that it remains a vehicle for individual development as well as one for improvement of the constructi...on industry. The invitation to apply for the scholarship is extended to include all aspects of the construction process from improvements in construction methodology to the exploration of policy issues such as the participation of women in the construction industry. We want you to use NAWIC Values and our Policies as your guide. Purpose: To provide a financial scholarship to a NAWIC member involved in the construction industry to develop and/or carry out research to challenge or change current industry thinking. 14.01.2022 We want to make sure that our members stay with us and use their NAWIC connections to stay energised and on track. To that end, with the end of the financial year approaching, in lieu of the usual membership renewal reminders being sent out, the Board will automatically renew membership renewal fees until the beginning of January 2021. We hope this encourages our existing members to maintain their connections with their fellow NAWIC colleagues in their own state as well as ac...ross the country. NAWIC has been working on a new membership structure, the roll out of this structure will be deferred until 2021 as we continue to assess the impacts of the pandemic on our membership.

With more than 15 years experience as a learning and development specialist across oil and gas, finance, utilities and construction industries, Carla joined NAWIC in July 2019. Carlas appointment as Chair to the education committee will continue the work previously done and looking to build on this further to provide professional development opportunities, produce and share lea...ding educational content, and career development for women in construction. NAWIC is the National Association of Women in Construction and is an Australian, not-f...or-profit organisation who strives to empower women in the construction industry to reach their full potential. We are really excited to announce that our Safety Systems & Environment Manager, Ali Bussey took home the Business Professional Award, which recognises the dedication and excellence of an individual who has played a significant role within an organisation, and Enerven was awarded the Crystal Vision Award, which celebrates the continuing commitment of an organisation towards advancing the interests of women in the construction industry. The Awards for Excellence are designed to celebrate the achievements of women, men and organisations across various categories in the construction industry. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the amazing talent we have with eight women from Enerven nominated in various categories; including: Kelly Campbell and Alison Bussey in the Business Professional category; Hannah Luter in the Emerging Leader category; Medha Chudgar in the Designer of the Year category; and Julie Brown, Tahlia Breda, Simmi Sadhana and Laurie Crute in the Project Achievement category. It was really inspiring to hear about their achievements and makes us proud to work alongside such fantastic women in our industry. Enerven has established workplace initiatives and our own unique culture to help support and retain women in construction, and it is fantastic to be recognised for this with the Crystal Vision award and Business Professional Award.
