25.01.2022 A huge thank you to everyone who came out yesterday afternoon to show your support for The Tinderboxers and the Nick Balcombe Foundation. We had a fantastic time doing what we love in memory of our beloved Nicko! Thanks also go to Hobart Brewing Co., Ian Parsons and Ross Giblin for sound tech, The Works Printing Group for merch, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys and Lipscombe Larder for the raffle donation prizes.... A young four piece indie rock band from Southern Tasmania They recently released a new single ‘Lucky To Be Alive’ and were winners of Triple J’s Unearthed Party in the Paddock competition. ... To utilise the grant, the band have outlined a two year plan which includes the recording and release of three new singles with music videos and a PR campaign We are excited to help @thetinderboxers to live their dream! 13.01.2022 The @Nick Balcombe Foundation 'Money Man' (IE Treasurer) @Finn Dorny is a man that not only loves the Nick Balcombe Foundation, but also cycling to extreme limits. Whilst being stuck in COVID-times he cannot get out and about and compete in his usual sufferings (triathlons etc), so he has decided to undertake a gruelling "sufferfest" of challenge - the Toughest Indoor Cycling Challenge in the World, the Knights of Sufferlandria. Over ten hours of pure suffering! Finn is rais...ing money for the Nick Balcombe Foundation and Movember - two causes dear to him. Legend! 10.01.2022 HEY! It is that time of the year again where we GET HAIRY! Join us in supporting Tasmanian’s musicians and mens health by growing a beard for the month of August! Ladies, you can join us too - give up wine or chocolate for a month? Money raised will help keep the Nick Balcombe Foundation alive - we will also direct 40% of the funds to the Movember Foundation Australia, as this was something Nick was very passionate about ... You can either: 1. Become a CrowdRaiser by heading to www.givenow.com.au/gethairy and clicking on the blue "Create CrowdRaiser" button. Then simply throw away your razor for the month of August, grow a beard, and send people to your GiveNow CrowdRaiser page to donate. If you are unable to grow a beard, you can still become a CrowdRaiser, all you need to do is ditch something that you love (like chocolate) for the month. 09.01.2022 Our hearts go out to the friends and family of the wonderful Hugh Burridge. Hugh, Nick always spoke ever so highly of you, you were the foundations greatest supporter, a great mate to all who knew you and an incredible contributor to the community. A socialite who will be very deeply missed within the Hobart community, may your spirit live on through us, your friends and family. Vale, Hugh Burridge, lost too soon.
