08.01.2022 *** New service coming to Blackwater *** NBGP will be hosting the HAP-EE Early Ears Program from Hearing Australia starting in September. The program is aimed at ensuring that indigenous children are school ready by providing diagnostic hearing assessments and follow-up treatment with the expected outcome that this will result in a reduction of the long-term effects of ear diseases, such as otitis media. Otitis Media is one of the most common ear diseases that ABTSI childre...n are most vulnerable to and, if left untreated, can lead to hearing loss with can then have an effect on delayed speech and educational development. We will be hosting the Early Ears program on a bi-monthly basis, with the first clinic to be held on Tuesday 8th September.
