25.01.2022 Just in-time for Christmas, Kmart has brought-out a new doll with Down syndrome. The Baby Charlie dolls are in the inclusivity range of products, alongside a doll who uses a wheelchair, a visually impaired doll and one that is hearing impaired. This release fosters inclusivity, well-rounded representation of people and explores diversity. A customer whose five-year-old son has Down Syndrome said she was excited about the release. 25.01.2022 Earlier in the year, Venessa won an Art Prize from the Willoughby Council with the prize including a solo exhibition at the Dougherty Community Centre, Chatswood. The exhibition was a lifelong dream of Venessa’s but it was unfortunately delayed due to COVID. This week Venessa got to realise her dream and open her exhibition! 20.01.2022 The United Nations declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) was adopted by the General Assembly on this day in September 2007. Today the declaration is the most comprehensive international instrument on the rights of Indigenous Peoples. It establishes a universal framework of minimum standards for the survival, dignity, and well-being of the Indigenous peoples of the world and it elaborates on existing human rights standards and fundamental freedoms as they apply to the specific situation of Indigenous peoples.
