24.01.2022 Keep up the great work Victoria! As we move to a 'COVID normal' way of life, don't forget the basics. Keep your distance, staying at least 1.5m apart from others, practice good hand hygiene, cough or sneeze into your elbow and if you feel unwell, stay home and arrange to get a COVID-19 test - no matter how mild your symptoms. Stay safe and we can celebrate a COVID normal Christmas together.

16.01.2022 World Diabetes Day November 14 World Diabetes Day was created in response to growing concerns about the health threat posed by diabetes around the world. 463 million adults (1-in-11) were living with diabetes in 2019 The number of people living with diabetes is expected rise to 578 million by 2030.... 1 in 2 adults with diabetes remain undiagnosed (232 million). The majority have type 2 diabetes. 1 in 6 live births (20 million) are affected by high blood glucose (hyperglycaemia) in pregnancy. Diabetes caused 4.2 million deaths in 2019. Diabetes was responsible for at least $760 billion in health expenditure in 2019 10% of the global total spent on healthcare. What can you do? Get out and about! Exercise is one of the best things you can do to combat chronic diseases like Diabetes, but there’s no need to run a marathon or hit the gym to see the benefits. Make a plan to walk around the block once a day, spend some time in the garden or ditch the car and walk to work, or into town to meet a friend. Pictured participating in group exercise are NCN Health Cobram’s Allied Health Assistant Josh Foley with Vincent Grasso and Royce Bastin. Eat well and feel well Perhaps you need advice on nutrition? NCN Health can help. You can make an appointment to talk to our diabetes educator on all the factors that could help manage your health and create better health outcomes. Pictured are the team at Primary Health Numurkah standing in a ‘blue circle’. World Diabetes Day is represented by a clue circle logo that signifies the global community coming together in response to the diabetes epidemic.
