19.01.2022 NSW PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT COVID-19 CASE NSW Health has been notified this afternoon of a new COVID-19 case who resides in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The ca...se, a man in his 60s, has not travelled overseas in recent times, however, he works as a driver, which includes transporting international flight crew. The man had a saliva test yesterday (Tuesday 15 June). The positive result on this test was confirmed today in a PCR test (Wednesday 16 June). This case will be included in tomorrow’s numbers. Urgent investigations into the source of the infection and contact tracing are underway, as is genome sequencing. Close contacts are being urgently contacted and asked to get tested and isolate. The man visited a number of venues while potentially infectious. The following venue is a close contact venue. Anyone who attended the following venue at the time listed must immediately call NSW Health on 1800 943 553, get tested and self-isolate for 14 days from the date they were at the venue, regardless of the result: - Bondi Junction - Screening of the Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, Cinema 1, at Events Cinema, 500 Oxford Street: Sunday 13 June, 1.30pm to 4pm. 1.45pm screening.
