25.01.2022 Did you know music is one of the few activities that use both sides of the brain (logical and creative)? This means it helps build important brain connections, and the more connections we have, the faster we are able to think. Children that are a part of a music program can strengthen so many of their skills which they will use for life.

25.01.2022 One of our founders & directors, Blake Stewart was recently interviewed by 2NRS on how the team at Necessity Kids are helping bridge the gap in Allied Health for Regional Areas. To listen to the full interview, click the link below.

24.01.2022 For those still learning to speak or struggling with certain aspects of their speech, they can use music therapy to work on producing specific sounds, words and phrases. The music educator can use both familiar and original songs to help practice sounds, and to learn how to use words and phrases appropriately. In these cases, the music educator would usually collaborate with your speech therapist to ensure an integrated approach.

22.01.2022 We are passionate about working alongside children and families to support children to develop their effective language and communication skills - and to help support them to be all they can become!

16.01.2022 Taking the time to read to your child is such a powerful tool for their language development. What is your favourite book to read with your child?

15.01.2022 Our vision is to promote optimal gross motor development, minimise the effects of physical impairments, prevent injury and ensure that your child has every opportunity to achieve perceived simple life tasks, such as walking, and to be able to participate in play with friends and family.

11.01.2022 Gross motor skills are important to enable children to perform every day functions, such as walking and running, playground skills (e.g. climbing) and sporting skills (e.g. catching, throwing and hitting a ball with a bat). However, these are crucial for everyday self care skills like dressing (where you need to be able to stand on one leg to put your leg into a pant leg without falling over) and climbing into and out of a car or even getting into and out of bed.
