25.01.2022 Nedlands Croquet Club has been busy since it reopened at the end of January after major lawn maintenance. Recent visitors to the club, a group from the Wiluna Mining Company. From the moment they stepped onto the lawns armed with their mallets of choice it was competition on with a capital "C" They displayed some great beginners skills, sportsmanship and laughter, everyone had a great night. Congratulations to Cain, the eventual winner !!!

25.01.2022 What do good mates do when they want to catch up and have a few beers and a bit of fun? Of course they play a few games of croquet!! This was how Harrison and his friends spent the time together at the Nedlands Croquet Club. A lot of laughter, cheers, tricks and enlightenment.

24.01.2022 Doctors and health workers across the world are giving up time with their loved ones to help keep ours safe and well. They have a simple request for all their h...ard work in combating COVID-19 ... Social distancing. Hand washing, personal hygiene and cough/sneeze etiquette also remain key to limiting transmission. Thank you Colin and all the other members that do so much for the club behind the scenes. We are looking forward to hosting all the players and teams in the coming weeks and hope you enjoy your visit to the Nedlands Croquet Club.

15.01.2022 Some of these guys may look tired and deservedly so, but those smiles are ones of joy, relief and winners. The Tasmanian team battled-hard all day long to record a victory on the last day over Queensland.

09.01.2022 Day 2 Eire Cup, saw trying conditions again weather wise, but the calibre of the croquet played was of a high standard and entertaining for the spectators. Congratulations to the NSW team on your victory over Queensland. CONGRATULATIONS !!! also to our West Australian team yesterday, victory over South Australia. Wow!! Congratulations to both Tasmania and Victoria who battled out a draw, 10 games all, Victoria claiming the win on a hoop difference of 17, what an amazing match.

09.01.2022 What do hockey players do to celebrate the end of a season? The Suburban Lions Ladies Hockey Team swapped their sticks for mallets and had a "Bogan Bling" party. Nedlands Croquet Club very much enjoyed hosting this great group of ladies and their coach. It certainly had its challenges, swinging a mallet, learning the tactics and putting balls through hoops that were no where near the size of a hockey goal. A great time was had by all on the lawns, followed by a celebration and a lot of laughs in the clubhouse

08.01.2022 Beyond the point of no return !!

08.01.2022 It was definitely an event to remember. "Ashleigh's Day On The Green" Ashleigh gathered with her bridesmaids, family and friends to celebrate her Hens Party. Her amazing bridesmaids Jasmyn, Chloe and Jaye went to great lengths to ensure it was a memorable occasion. The Nedlands Croquet Club wish Ashleigh and her partner all the very best on their wedding day and their life together.

Thirty five players competed in the COVID Cup, Pandemic Plate and Isolation Shield. Chris McWhirter won the COVID Cup, Brett and Janine McHardy the Isolation Shield doubles and Michael Trefusis-Paynter the Pandemic Plate. 04.01.2022 Pam Kerrison, is a Nedlands Croquet Club member and its Secretary. A year ago Pam's father sadly passed away in England. Pam would visit him every year and he was always very interested in her achievements and association with croquet. To honor his memory, Pam has very kindly donated 4 equipment trolleys. These were made by John Dunn from the Busselton Croquet Club. Before play last Wednesday and in time for the Champion of Champions competition held at Nedlands, we held a small unveiling and thanked Pam for her generous donation.

01.01.2022 Nedlands Croquet swings back into action

01.01.2022 England won the inaugural GC Test Match between Spain and England, 13 matches to 8. Captained by John-Paul Moberly, the 6-man England squad took a lead of 4-2 a...fter day one. The Spanish players had other ideas, and narrowed the scoreline to 7-6 at one stage during day 2, but England kept their cool (despite 26 temperatures!) and converted the remaining 2 best-of-three matches in their third games for a 9-6 lead. 5 singles wins out of a possible 6 would have seen Spain victorious, but this proved to be a stretch too far, with England Veteran Stephen Mulliner securing the match win that took England over the line. Full scores are available at http://croquetscores.com The hospitality at the Real Club Pineda in Seville was absolutely superb. The English players and their travelling companions enjoyed lunches, dinners, drinks and dances, and the courts had been prepared to a high standard in preparation for the event. Pictured below is the English team. Back left - right: Harry Fisher, Tobi Savage, Jonathan Powe. Front left - right: Stephen Mulliner, John-Paul Moberly, Richard Bilton. Congratulations to the England Team!

01.01.2022 "Recipe for fun" Staff from the City of Perth have never played croquet before but within a short time they were modest experts, high fives flying and loads of laughter. It was great having you all and thrilled your first experience was a positive one, come back and see us sometime :-))
