25.01.2022 What a fun night we had celebrating the 2020-2021 Presentation Dinner with our members. And how good was it to be out of masks! With such a beautiful evening and the freedom to celebrate with friends at the Club - how lucky are we in Western Australia! On the night we got to celebrate lots of worthy winners and a huge congratulations goes to all of you. You guys had a great season. We also got to thank all our volunteers which are so important to this Club. Most importantly w...e got to celebrate as a Club! Club Patron Barry Court joined us to present the Court family Award which is for Club Person of the Year Award. This award went to Stephanie Turner. Congratulations to Steph! Craig LeMaistre joined us to present all the LeMaistre Family Awards and this year as always, we had some very worthy winners. The Jack LeMaistre Award for an outstanding contribution to Senior Sailing went to Murray Pennifold. Murrays response to receiving his award - "Totally unexpected - I just like being here!" The Brian LeMaistre Award for an outstanding contribution to Junior Sailing went to Kelly Padayachy for his ongoing support of the Junior fleet and encouragement to get Juniors racing consistently this season. Well done Kelly. The LeMaistre Family Award for any supporting role in the Club went to Lisa Taylor for her ongoing support and commitment in the galley. We love getting fed on race days! Lisa's response to getting the award - " Sorry I burnt some chips this year!" Thank you again to all our volunteers and a big congratulations to all the winners!!!

18.01.2022 The NYC Club Sprint Series is on again starting this Friday. The weather at this stage is looking great with a good sea breeze and 26 degrees, so what better way is there to finish off the working week! Come down for a sail, all classes of the Club welcome, grab a relaxed drink and $5 pizza afterwards. Racing briefing and sign on is scheduled for 17:15 hrs with the first race scheduled to start at 17:30 hrs.

18.01.2022 We love all of our members at Nedlands. We have the best time seeing all of them down at the club. With so much to be involved in, there is always something to look forward to including The Club Sprint Series. This will be held on three Friday Afternoons starting on the 20th November and there will be another two Sprint Series dates in the new year. This is a great opportunity to come down for a Friday Afternoon sail and relaxed Drink and Pizza afterwards.... We do however need some volunteers to get a rescue boat out on the water so if there is anyone who would like to help out please can you let Lucy know in the office, [email protected]

15.01.2022 Awesome to see Nedlands Yacht Club featured in the Australian Sailing news - Club in Focus. The home of a very stong Hobie fleet in Perth. Including almost 30... Hobie 16's and now a Hobie Wild Cat (F18) too. And don't those Hobie 16's look so impressive lined up on the club lawn. Hobie sailors racing on the Swan River in Perth enjoy a wonderful facility at NYC where they can roll their boats out of a secure compound, on to the club lawn, rig up and launch off the beach straight on to the race course area. Spectators ashore can sit on the club verandah and watch the fast and fun Hobie racing in Melville Water right in front of the club. 14.01.2022 This is exciting news with some restrictions loosing as of 27th April (tomorrow).

14.01.2022 Thanks to all those who turned up to the Busy Bee on Sunday just gone. What we would do without you??? The weather turned out to be a lot nicer than predicted and we managed to knock a few more jobs off the list of things that need to be done. Hooray! Windows were painted, bins filled, boats patched and the 'family' silver (the trophies) got a polish amongst a number of other important jobs. As always, thank you to John Collier for organising the day.... The Junior fleet provided a spread for morning tea and it was some serious soup for lunch. Special mention to Commodore Glenn for the delicious pumpkin soup. The next Busy Bee is on July 11th , see you there!!!

11.01.2022 We are looking forward to hosting the 2021 WA Schools Teams Racing Regatta once again this week. This regatta sees high school students racing against each other in teams and provides a chance for these teenager sailors to showcase their skills in the teams racing event. The regatta is sailed at Nedlands Yacht Club which offers perfect conditions for the teams racing with a wide expanse of rigging lawn and a race area just off the beach within easy viewing for the spectators.

04.01.2022 Great news for the hospitality industry.. "Starting Saturday, June 6, the 4sqm rule will be replaced with a 2sqm rule effectively doubling the number of people allowed in hospitality venues up to a maximum of 100. That is a fivefold increase from the current limit of 20." "Additionally, bigger venues that have the capacity to split into self-contained zones of no more than 100 will be permitted to serve a total of 300 people. Licensed venues will be permitted to serve alcohol without meals, but patrons must remain seated at all times."
