25.01.2022 3 weeks until the end of term, can you believe it?? A little study based on "Sirens" from 2019's "Dance and the Voice" Performance. If you haven't paid for term 3 yet, please do so, - the Opera's nearly over!!

25.01.2022 Closing out term 1 with a little note on perspective. Sending a ballerina to class from the sidelines, - thank you to Elayna for keeping the classes going; and mini-performance time in Alexandra's Monday class. All educational! Happy Easter everyone!

23.01.2022 Would really rather keep dancing in the studio than return to that frame, the Zoom world. Next few weeks will be about refining Covid protocol that suits our new space. Can we do it? Yes we can! Thank you for the artistic selfie Lydie Taylor... .

22.01.2022 A second photographic study, this time of "Water Ballet" for the wall in our waiting room. Thank you to all students for working so hard this term and making future projects (like this one) inevitable. Happy first day of Spring all!

22.01.2022 Moments from Alexandra's class today... .A room full of lovely dancers, and a masterful teacher. Happiness!

22.01.2022 And back to dance we go... Adult ballet, Senior Ballet, Grade 2 ballet, and Chelsea being flexible which is not a choice for her!!! Happy term 4 everyone.

22.01.2022 Working on our change-area now, - Dance-Dad Steve in action again. These will be transported to the studio soon to complete our fit-out. And conveniently, the "fit-balls" will be stored on top refining use-age a little (but not totally): win-win!

21.01.2022 An interesting Thursday evening...Elayna's been working on a new piece, and Faith and I on a new class where tap shoes and the night lights of the Mall hit the right note (mostly!)

20.01.2022 Spring pointes! - getting some shape out of these shoes... .

18.01.2022 There was a mermaid seen in the studio this morning, along-with rockpools, dolphins, and kites. This term: Dance-a-story is "Day at the Beach" for Pre-school ballet... .

17.01.2022 Last Monday before the holidays and we made the most of it! Students pictured are working hard in their Character/ballet, and Progressing Ballet Technique classes. Holidays approaching are well deserved!

16.01.2022 Dancers big and small enjoying movement, and perhaps the Spring weather atm... .

13.01.2022 Grade 3 ballet student Kithmi Jayaratne pictured in her National costume from Shri Lanka. Kithmi won junior New England Champion, the local encouragement award, a first in her National Character, and a second in her Hip-hop routine! She also learned two ballet solos in a couple of lessons and performed them both with courage and confidence. Wow Kithmi! Amazing work!

12.01.2022 So creative, a group effort at choreography with Alexandra tonight, - very interesting to watch!

12.01.2022 We are ready and waiting for the 3 day intensive... 8-10th July with the wonderful teachers of Ballet Workshops Australia. Don't miss out!

11.01.2022 Alexandra’s pace, together with the mellow evening light was our Tuesday evening in the studio... .

11.01.2022 Everything you EVER learned as a teacher is helpful when teaching dance to the very young! Pictured is the stage set for our new Pre-school dance class for 3-5 year olds, Mondays 10-10.30, upstairs in the Armidale Mall Arcade. Enrolments will be open for a while to build the class to capacity. Try-out lessons paid casually are also available! And even better - the coffee (downstairs) is fantastic!

11.01.2022 Pictured: Junior and Senior participants after their intensive with Ballet Workshops Australia. Fond memories now as we head into term 3! Thank you BWA, you created a buzz in the centre of town where and when we needed it!

11.01.2022 Step, gallop, skip this way to get Creative! Mondays start with Pre-school dance for 3-5 year-olds (10-10.30) and finish with Alexandra Cook's Open Contemporary-jazz class (6.15-7.15.) This is why: I LIKE Mondays! And yes that is a reference to the Boomtown Rats' song for those old enough!

10.01.2022 Mondays and Tuesdays, - everybody tests their limits, and are getting stronger. The trick is: patience with your own pathway - as your destination is rightfully unique.

09.01.2022 Planning to expand the movement program for Adults with some new classes including early morning Pilates with Elayna Moens (pictured.) We were thinking Mondays and Fridays either side of "Pilates day" on Wednesday. If interested let us know your preferences!

09.01.2022 Dancing all day and into the night is - as it should be! Old friends Elayna and Dustin catch up tonight while BWA (Ballet Workshops Australia) Teachers inspire, educate, and encourage Armidale dancers by day. One more day of classes to go but the benefits to our local Dance-Culture will be long-lasting!

09.01.2022 Celebrating the end of the year with some images from Monday nights’ training. It’s taken a lot of research to get to this point where these 2 new styles of class are really achieving their purpose. Many of these young dancers were the babies of the school just a heartbeat ago... .

08.01.2022 Cool cats catching mice, but in reality "gorilla training" can be the ticket to developing athleticism, creativity, and confidence. Our Pre-school ballet class (based on the RAD beginner ballet program) starts on Monday 08 February 10-10.30am, and will use a theme/storyline as every excuse for movement! Cafes nearby for a quick recovery!

08.01.2022 Have been anguishing over a new poster to raise our profile advertising our location and our new classes. Photo-play results... . Pre-school ballet (Mondays: 10-10.30) and Barre class (tbc.) are 2 of those new classes!

08.01.2022 Ballet Workshops Australia are coming to Armidale in early July. Students DO learn by osmosis which means Worksops with visiting professionals have a way bigger impact than the average singular class on a student's dance-life: Worth it!!

07.01.2022 Expanding the Open age movement program in Term 2 with another class called "Yoga Plus." Thursdays 5.30-6.30 will comprise 30 mins of Vinyasa Flow Yoga, and 30 mins of Beginner tap with a Musical Theatre edge! Pictured, musician and dancer, Faith Hall who will teach the tap with a musician's flare! Thank you Faith!

06.01.2022 Enrolment Day is on us now and already 2 tweaks... . Please note the new Pre-school ballet themed class is on Mondays only, from 10-10.30. Our Wednesday Pilates Mat classes will be 45 mins long so will fit within a lunch break and/or offer a brief intense evening workout. Address those physical issues that are difficult to manage in other contexts! Spaces are limited, don't miss out!

05.01.2022 It's a process of responding to the needs out there... . There are 3 lunchtime Mat Classes now, 12-12.45 Tues. Wed. and Thurs.s based on day-attendees requiring a second weekly class, and a Wed. only set. Air-conditioned environment, heart of Armidale, first in best served!

05.01.2022 Wrapping up Senior day with this cute group shot of most of the participants. Elayna's signature moment to moment knowledge bites lead us through more than we thought possible! A flawless, generous, and inspiring effort. Congratulations Elayna!

05.01.2022 Alex, couldn't teach today so Heather stepped in with an improvisational emphasis, and a distinctive routine; thank you Heather!!

03.01.2022 Pictured: Alexandra's Contemporary-Jazz class on Tuesdays, 6-7pm. Open to older students, and Adults who dance, the class now combines immaculate teaching professionalism with a customised studio venue in the heart of Armidale. There are only a few spaces left due to space requirements - first in best served with a very special opportunity.

03.01.2022 For even healthier spines, and beautiful poise, introducing Wednesday from next Wed 10/Feb, as Pilates day at our NEDT studio. Most of the original exponents of this modality were dancers so sample a dancer's approach through either our lunchtime class with Penny (Director) at 12-12.45 or the evening class with Alexandra Cook (pictured in performance) at 5.30-6.15. Fix the niggles with some mind-body re-connection!

03.01.2022 Updated timetable for term 2. Please note the new classes which require a minimum enrolment of 4 participants to start; and also that Barre class taught by Alexandra Cook is replacing Mat class on Wednesday evenings to introduce our studio to this popular fitness phenomenon. Doing the Barre followed by Adult Contemporary (with both Elayna Moens and hopefully a little live percussion) will attract a 10% discount off the price of both classes. Bargain for the challenge! Classes start back from this Tuesday 20th April. See you then!

03.01.2022 Coming soon: a 2-day workshop with former NEDT student and teacher, Elayna Moens. Now an Ev and Bow Academy graduate who knows our Armidale area well, Elayna has the uniquely specialised resources to inspire her fellow dancers... . Don't miss out!

02.01.2022 Senior Ballet and Contemporary student Lydie Taylor showcases her mastery of re-invention through 3 portraits about the Culture of Dance. Presented here to inspire the use of our new Studio to similar ends, - and beginnings... .

02.01.2022 Finally remembered to take some photos! Progressing Ballet Technique on a Monday night (literally) kicks off our week with: turnout, extension, postural strength... And it's a lot of fun providing the props behave!
