25.01.2022 After supplying us with the use of a brand new telehandler less than 3 months ago JCB Agriculture Australia and Michaels Group of Moama have replaced it with another brand spanking new one. Not that there was anything wrong with the other one other than the dust we put on it. Just time to swap it over before we put more than demo hours on it. Thank You JCB CEA. We can head into summer prepared for nearly anything.

25.01.2022 Massive thank you to the Tocumwal Golf & Bowls Club for their continued support with the loan of their trailer. Allowing us to get hampers etc to Cobargo area for farmers in need

24.01.2022 Your Drought and Fire Donations at Work. As our response to the latest drought and last summers fires is winding down and we're getting ready for whatever this summer may bring, it's time to take stock of what has been achieved, all managed by a group of dedicated volunteers. The map below, which was prepared as part of a report to our Lions District 201 V3 Convention, shows our response to requests for assistance in just the last 12 months.... In total, our response to the drought since January 2018 has seen well over 1300 truckloads of fodder worth around 12 million dollars delivered to farmers totally free of charge into all of the eastern states including Tasmania and South Australia. That is on top of more than 700 truckloads with a value of at least $6.5 million for those affected by last summer’s horrific fires. These deliveries are usually accompanied by household hampers, personal care packs, Lions teddies and toys for the kids, and food for our best mates. Every farm has at least one dog! Now about to begin our 15th. Year, we at Need for Feed take great pride not only in being managed 100% by volunteers but also this year being adopted as a national Project of Lions Australia You will see from the map that we have been able to meet approximately 85% of our requests for assistance over the last 12 months. Our aim now being a National Project, is to partner with other Lions Club and Districts to build capacity in order to better meet the needs of all the communities we wish to serve. Our group of 6 Lions members on our committee are involved on pretty much a daily basis. With nearly 200 different truck drivers taking part in 18 Hay runs over the year, a core group of 15 have completed just about every run.

23.01.2022 This year is just about 3/4 gone. Time to get your calendar for next year and support a great cause at the same time.

16.01.2022 We love our volunteers and we love our donors, especially those who keep on giving year after year. Elden Oster and wife Julie, have kept on keeping on, not only giving over the past 4 years, but also organising family and friends to do the same. We would now be in excess of 35 loads of fodder that have come as a result of their generosity and that of the Maitland, South Australia community and surrounding area on the Yorke Peninsula. ... If you or someone you know are in a position to donate some new season fodder or even last years in good condition, we still have farmers in the remnants of the drought and recovering from last summer’s fires that could do with a helping hand. https://www.needforfeed.org/fodder-donations.html

11.01.2022 Next hay run will be back to Cobar and Broken Hill in western NSW. While it has rained in lots of places, there are still many areas who haven’t been lucky enough to be under one of the bigger storms. Most have a tinge of green but no real substance to what’s on the ground so won’t be in a position to make their own feed. ... Loading will be on Friday October 23 in northern Vic. On Saturday night we will be hosted at the Cobar Camels Rugby Club where we will fed, watered and get to sit and watch the AFL Grand Final. Sunday we do our deliveries and head for home. If you’ve got a truck and trailer and want to give us hand, and legally escape the Melbourne lockdown to watch the Grand Final with up to 50 others, click here https://www.needforfeed.org/hay-run.html If you have some fodder to donate to make a difference in these people’s lives https://www.needforfeed.org/fodder-donations.html Or you would like to support our continuing efforts https://www.needforfeed.org/donate.html We have registered COVID Safe business plans with both the NSW and Victorian governments.

09.01.2022 Another nice message from a very grateful recipient. Thank you to all the team involved in our very timely delivery of hay. We were on our last bale at the time and we didn't know what we were to do next, as the grain supplier also had advised us that he had no more grain available. We seem to miss out on the rain every time but we know someone up there is looking out for us, evident in your help. Both my husband and I were bought to tears when we received the call from 'Saint' Mark and his gorgeous offsider Ernie that he was arriving that afternoon. (They are excellent ambassadors for your team)Thank you all so very much because you brightened our days. PS Our cows said thank you too.

07.01.2022 Another nice message to our page. Hi, just wanted to say a massive Thank you to you guys. My parents received a delivery from your organization and they are so appreciative. I’m sure there are hundreds more people in need just like them and unfortunately worse off as well so I will be tell...ing everyone about your charity. Thanks again, best wishes and safe travels for your drivers. Ps they said your delivery driver was amazing! Great person to have on your team See more

07.01.2022 Not much can stop our deliveries. We’re out there working through everything, fire, flood, drought, and pandemic. This was today on our way back to the drought area in South East NSW. ... Hard to believe it’s so dry just a few kilometres away.

02.01.2022 Our deliveries are still happening week in week out. We still have farmers in need. If you have some of last years hay you could spare... https://www.needforfeed.org/fodder-donations.html Or you can help keep the trucks rolling https://www.needforfeed.org/donate.html

The money saved will be used to purchase more hay to help more fire affected residents. #communityhelpingcommunity
