14.01.2022 Last but most certainly not least. Our 3rd Community Grant recipient is the Nilma North Rural Fire Brigade. Their mission, as with all CFA's, is to protect lives and property. They are committed to ensuring the safety of the community and pride themselves on teamwork. Currently the brigade has no central location for information or communication and rely on various sources which are not always accessible to all members. This grant will allow the brigade to install a computer and allow them to maximise the use and efficiency of their communication systems and better serve and protect lives and property in our community. Congratulations Nilma North Fire Brigade. And special mention to all our local brigade members who have been deployed up north. Stay Safe.

12.01.2022 Twenty years ago on the 15th of July the Neerim District Community Bank opened. It has been an amazing journey for all those people who contributed to the project including our customers. We recognise the vision of the group of people who got together over 2 decades ago to get the ball rolling on our own bank branch. A significant task. In normal circumstances we would have had a big celebration but we will leave that for our 21st. In the meantime we reflect on 20 years of service and over $3,000,000 of sponsorships and grants to the Neerim District community. Thanks to the many people who have supported this Community Bank and the hard working staff and volunteers who have made it the success it is today.

10.01.2022 The decision has been made to postpone the Christmas Fair because of the terrible weather forecast for Saturday morning. This decision was not taken lightly, b...ut after consultation with experts and many involved parties, it was decided that it was best, and safest, not to proceed. There is some good news though!! We are going to run almost all of the fair events alongside our carols on 22 December from 5pm onwards at the Neerim South Primary School. This includes the dunking machine... so no one is getting off the hook! In fact, we’ve actually added to our lineup!!! It is disappointing for us all, and we hope you will continue to support the hospital and this event by attending the Carols. In light of the work that is being done to cancel Saturday, we have also postponed the meeting at the Neerim South Hotel on Thursday evening. If anyone in the community wants to be involved in the planning for the event, we welcome your involvement and ask that you contact the page directly. We love our town and know that magic happens when we all work together. Let’s set our sights on making this year’s Neerim Community Carols the best we’ve ever seen!
