25.01.2022 Teamwork and smiles. This winning formula works across our neighbourhoods as well. Thanks Mat for the photo.

23.01.2022 Today is World Kindness Day. We encourage everyone to take part in some way and thank all of our Neighbourhood Watch participants for all their efforts in looking out for their community. Feel free to do a good deed or a small act of kindness everyday.

22.01.2022 It's simple. Always lock your car and take all valuables with you, even if you only leave the car for a minute. Even a few coins on the console can be the catalyst for you falling victim to theft not to mention the smashed window. Do not provide a thief an opportunity to break into your car. Make a conscious effort this weekend and remind your family, friends and neighbours.

21.01.2022 "Ello" - How secure are your security doors and screens? As we enjoy the warmer weather and leave our doors and windows open now is the time to assess our security. Having a more hardy material purpose made to protect your home is recommended along with triple locks.... Even better, having mesh that allows you to see anyone at your door, but shields you from them, gives another level of protection and privacy. Not every guest is as cute as this guy popping in to say hi!

20.01.2022 It doesn't take a big effort to be familiar with your local neighbourhood. But it is important that you are. This weekend, take the time to become familiar with your local neighbourhood. Be observant, be aware and report all suspicious activity to Police.

20.01.2022 Our bin stickers are a great visual deterrent. Especially on bin day. If this is what your street looks like on bin day share your pictures in the comments. If you would like your street to look like this....send us a private message and we can send you some stickers.

20.01.2022 Tools and equipment left in trade vehicles are common targets for thieves because of their value and ability to be sold for quick cash. To reduce your chances of becoming a victim of theft, please try and keep your tools secure and consider marking or engraving your tools and equipment with your driver’s licence number prefixed by WA for Western Australia and record the make, model and serial number of your tools.

20.01.2022 Neighbourhood Watch is all about connected communities, and we encourage everyone to take the time to get to know the people in your neighbourhood. Making your community a brighter place can be as simple as smiling at a stranger or stopping for a chat with a neighbour. Small gestures can make a big difference.

20.01.2022 Thieves target a range of materials often found on building sites. These can include hot water systems, electrical cables and copper piping. Please consider the security of your building site. If you see suspicious activity on building sites call the Police on 131 444.

20.01.2022 Scams come in all shapes and sizes It could be an SMS impersonating Australia Post and phishing for your personal info, a fake email asking you to update your Netflix payment details, or a Facebook message saying that you’ve won 1st prize in a competition you didn’t enter It’s important to know how to spot a scam. For more info on scams and how to avoid becoming a victim, visit www.scamwatch.gov.au Many of these scams are frighteningly realistic so please share this warning with friends and neighbours this week.

17.01.2022 What a great deterrent! But you don’t need to go these lengths, just ensure that you remove all valuables from your car when you lock it up and leave it simples!!

16.01.2022 The only thing worse than coming home to a stuffy house is coming home to find your stuff taken! Please remember in this hot weather to close all your windows again when you leave the house. Burglars will always choose the easier option and an open window is an open invitation. Enjoy the sunshine!

14.01.2022 Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Bat Dog! Fighting crime and bringing home grime. Have your own Bat Dog at home? We would love to see! Share with us your own Bat Dog photos below.... Thanks for the inspiration and photo S. Quest! :)

14.01.2022 Don't be a target in your own home. All types of tools are easy to grab and go, and lets face it, expensive to buy let alone replace. Please lock all garden tools and ladders away securely so they cannot be used to break into your home.

13.01.2022 It's not just a program. It's an instinct. Meerkats are a perfect example of NHW values. A tight-knit community, always watching out for each other! Safety in unity, guys! Thanks for your continued efforts.

09.01.2022 It's what you know, not who you are that makes a difference. Report anonymously to Crime Stoppers - 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestopperswa.com.au for a safer WA.

08.01.2022 There are simple steps you can do to improve your bicycle security and neighbourhood safety. Lock up your bike. Many bicycles are stolen simply because they have been left unsecured. Invest in a "D" lock. Always secure your bicycle to a fixed object that can't be lifted or removed.... Register your bike on Bikelinc - bikelinc.com.au Let's make it #tougherforcrooks

08.01.2022 Have a great weekend WA! Stay safe, look out for each other and report all suspicious activity to Police. Thanks Mat for the photo.

07.01.2022 Tis the season! Let's continue to spread the neighbourliness and cheer this Christmas season. Here are some helpful hints to strengthen our bonds with our neighbours, family and friends this Christmas. Neighbourly Christmas Tip #1: bake someone happy! Make a batch of homemade cookies and spread the happiness to your neighbour's, friends and family.

07.01.2022 Yes, it really is this simple. Yes, we do need to be reminded. Let's make it #tougherforcrooks

06.01.2022 A lovely photo of our mounted Police at a recent event in the City, helping to keep our community safe. Thanks Mat!

06.01.2022 And a good neighbour is one who admires the flowers in your garden, then helps repair your broken fence!

05.01.2022 Your car’s best security feature is you. Here are some questions to ask yourself to maintain your vehicle security. Is it locked? Have you removed all valuables? Have you removed the removable stereo and sat nav gear?... Have the number plates been fitted with tamper resistant screws? Have you placed the keys out of plain sight and not close to windows and external doors? If you answered no to any questions then your car is vulnerable. Make the changes today and let's make it #tougherforcrooks

03.01.2022 Your mail can include items about your identity such as driver’s licence, utility accounts, credit card transactions and bank statements. People can steal these to assume your identity and then defraud others using your name, and running up debts in your name. Please clear mail daily and consider purchasing a lockable mailbox or convert your current mailbox to a lockable style.

03.01.2022 Halloween has become an increasingly popular celebration over the past few years for children, families and young people especially, but it is important not to have fun at the expense of others. If you are celebrating Halloween, please consider the elderly and more vulnerable in the community who may find having strangers call at their door a frightening and intimidating experience. If you see someone displaying a no trick or treat poster, please do not call at those homes as... people do not wish to be disturbed. Let's look out for each other, stay safe and report all suspicious activity to Police.

02.01.2022 WA Police Force provide these great signs to use for Halloween. They are useful to display on your front doors, fences or gates to communicate to trick or treaters easily. If you are participating in Halloween this year - use the opportunity to get to know your neighbours. Say a few more words than 'trick or treat', and connect to make a safer community.

01.01.2022 Life's a beach! With weather warming up many of us will be hitting the beach. Remember - Only take what you need. Do not leave your valuables in your car. ... If you witness any suspicious activity in the car park or while sun baking - report to Police on 131 444. Travel Notes
