04.01.2022 Neighbourhood Watch is all about community members working together with police to keep their communities safe. Residents in Edwardstown showed a great example of this on Sunday night, by assisting in the arrest of a man who had allegedly broken into the headquarters of a local charity. Police were alerted by a witness who reported seeing the intruder at the Edwardstown premises. The suspect ran off, jumping fences into neighbouring properties, and police patrols were able t...o narrow their search thanks to several calls from residents reporting the suspect running through their yards. Police searched the area with the help of Police Dog Zeus and found the suspect hiding in a driveway in Marion, over 2 kilometres away. The man was arrested and charged with multiple offences. This is another great example of how local residents being observant of their surroundings and reporting suspicious behaviour has helped make their neighbourhood a safer place.
