25.01.2022 Forget this as a coworker, Dylan, brought it to me. Must be my birthday or something. If anyone is trying to call me I left my phone at work.... Leave a message and i will return the call tomorrow.
25.01.2022 Well this place has been interesting since I last posted or checked yesterday. The good thing is people have read and commented about the information contained about the Lantern Parade, some with great ideas and others expressing concern about the prices for the event. All good stuff. ... Then there are those getting a little excited about the initials FF. Now those who know me or have listened in the past or read the blog know that abuse is not part of my character. Sarcasm runs deep, yes but abuse or name calling naaah. If I wouldn’t say it to someone’s face it wouldn’t get said. Now I realise that and the last several hours in this place have proven it, that a lot of people go straight to the insults and even get indignant on someone else’s behalf. They even go into bat doing exactly what they accuse me of. Strange that. Now considering that I have been attacked in other places and the use of various names and defamatory comments are regular I hope these same people have come to my defence too. Now as I said sarcasm runs deep and my parents always told me that it was the lowest form of humour. I can’t help myself at times. So what does FF stand for? Favourite Fan, that’s what. As many know and I have written about on many occasions, social media is not a place I spend a great deal of time as it’s not very social. However many people do make me aware what is being said about me and at times my family sadly enough. When they do the conversation usually starts with the comment have you seen what your Favourite Fan has said about you? And that is how FF started. Considering my own battles with weight and the issues it carries that would be the last area that I would attack. It is a battle many of us share and we should support each other not tear each other down about it. So I have a favourite fan and he doesn’t like what I stand for, or what he believes i stand for. I also get the adage that some never let the truth get in the way of a good story, remember I have worked in the media for over 30 years and understand what it is to make comments to get a reaction or to get people thinking. But think about the content of a story not the fluff that sells it and more importantly do your own research.

15.01.2022 After being away for a few days with some of the most positive people I know I come home and turn on FB to find one of our local geniuses, we shall call FF, trying to take down one of our iconic events. After being cancelled last year due to Covid19 the Lismore Lantern Parade is planned to be coming back and working under the current health rules for events. That means it has to be at a venue that can be crowd controlled and currently the only venue that is appropriate is t...he Showgrounds. This means it will be a ticketed event to help control the numbers and provide an income, something they haven’t had for two years. Now FF has taken it upon himself to take down the event it would seem because one of my fellow Councillors works for Lightenup who organise the event. Also Jylie Jackson has decided to join her ticket for the September election. One of six I would guess. More competition for me, lol, and for FF if he actually runs. So to be brutally honest and give him a heads up if he needs it. I have been the voice of the parade for several year’s, volunteering my time free of charge to help this iconic local event. It receives some funds from council as one of two iconic events along with the Show. This comes via a council department not from Councillors directly. FF wants the DA for the event called up because we call up all DA’s like this, we don’t, just look at the recent Mardi Grass. Staff look after most of these event DA’s along with relevant committees and external bodies to look at traffic and public safety. FF might also like to know that my wife has freely volunteered her time to help coordinate an event dinner. I put this out there so FF has the correct information if he would like to attack us.
13.01.2022 Covid19 claims another scalp.
13.01.2022 This little fella Benji has been a big part of our family life for the last 15 years. He sadly passed away today at home with his other fur family around him. He was a Houdini dog including climbing on to the roof to jump off and visit his friends. ... He made us laugh and feel loved as he was always just wanting to be with us. Enjoy the big park in the sky my friend. We will miss you.
13.01.2022 Lismore featuring on Better Homes and Gardens.
12.01.2022 So I have the weekend off to relax. Alarm goes off a 4.45am out the door to boot camp by 5. Warmed up and into it at 5.30 and it finishes at 7. Home to pick Cherub up for soccer to be there at 7.45. He decides to play 2 games and finally get home at 12.30. ... Dogs looking sad as they haven’t had walk yet so out for a 5k walk with them. Out shopping to fill the cupboards as family coming over for breakfast tomorrow. Then friends over after lunch. All that and a reread of the council business papers for Tuesday and a stack of correspondence to go through as well. Nothing like a relaxing weekend is there. PS. My legs are now killing me after boot camp.

09.01.2022 A letter from George Bush snr to Bill Clinton as they changed over. Support across the political divide and great advice about dealing with the critics. Politics at all levels should be about doing the best for others and to do that you need support and conviction. ... Quite often the critics don’t understand it even worse don’t want to understand.
