On Friday 7 May we are hosting the BOFA Fringe screening of Zoolander... On Friday 21 May, we are hosting the BOFA Fringe screening of Cinema Paradiso. 19.01.2022 With the State and LegCo elections on this weekend, you're probably wondering who to vote for. Our founder Neil Henry Pitt was elected to State Parliament as a member for Bass in 1972, served for four years as a member of government. He ran again in 1976 but unsuccessfully. A couple of months ago we received a message out of the blue from Alley Wensley, who, while exploring under her house in Kings Meadows found this sign, which must be from either 1972 or 76. ... We figure it was coloured in by a child, and that person may have been Neil's daughter Di, but we're not really sure. And in one final twist, it turns out that Alley's house was formerly owned by the Corricks, who of course have a historic association with the Majestic Theatre.

15.01.2022 In memory of Kent Moss Kent worked here with us from 1992 until his retirement almost four years ago. During that time he served thousands of customers with great professional skill and incredible wit. The first photo was taken on his last day, just before he walked out of the store for the last time. Kent passed away last Thursday.... On behalf of the management and staff of Neil Pitt's, our thoughts and condolences are with his wife Wendy and his children Sarah, Nicola, Jay and Lydia.

The once busy movie theatre closed its doors in 1969 after television swooped in and gained popularity causing a decline in attendance Neil and Don Pitt purchased the theatre in November of the same year, before, with their brother Brian, meticulously renovating the space to open as a cutting edge retail store and cafe in November 1970 ... ... And that is where you will find us to this day! Yes, the retail industry has changed, but our passion for providing excellent customer service and a wonderful in store experience has remained the same.

The opening scene looks a bit like our foyer but I'm not sure it is. 07.01.2022 It's with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Jeff O'Byrne. Jeff worked here for over 30 years, retiring about 5 years ago. For many people and for much of that time, he was the face of Neil Pitt's - always upbeat, genuine, generous and kind, and one of the best salesmen you could ever meet. He was well known and respected all over the state - people regularly came from far and wide to see Jeff. On behalf of Don, Brian, all present and former staff of Neil Pitt's, Jeff's colleagues, we extend our sympathies to Yvonne and the family.
