12.01.2022 NELA Plastering Trowels - the fastest growing brand in the UK NELA came to the UK market a few years ago and have already become one of the leading names within... the industry. The range of products NELA manufacture continues to grow and 2017 will see the launch of some new products and some serious upgrades to the current range! Here is a quick guide to the NELA FLEXI Range of Plastering trowels: The NELAFLEX: The finisher - this trowel has a super amount of flexibility. Designed to purely be a finishing trowel, the NELAFLEX has a 0.3mm thick blade with a width of 4.3". The thickness and width of the blade gives the trowel its unique performance and characteristics. Many reviews come in the the NELAFLEX promote the ease of use of the product and how using this trowel is reduing the strain on the elbow and wrist joints of plasterers. The flexibility and design allows you to finish the wall with reducing the amount of pressure exerted. In fairness, this is a great by-product of a fantastic tool! The MediFLEX: Based on the same technology and performance as the NELAFLEX but with its own individual differences. The MediFLEX, as the name suggests, has a medium degree of flexibility. This therefore allows the trowel to be used in more stages of plastering compared to the NELAFLEX. The Medi has a 0.4mm blade with a width of 4.9" - the flexibility of the trowel allows for a high level of performance but also doesn't compromise any quality. The NELAFLEX will always be the finisher straight from the box and will require less breaking in but both can work side by side in harmony! The FLEXi range of trowels are both designed and manufactured in house at NELA Germany by Frank Freudenreich and his team. The trowels are made of three main parts and unlike the Premium trowels they aren't fully riveted. The blades are so thin, they can't be welded or riveted, they are therefore stuck onto a support bracket using a high quality bonding tape.The support bracket is then riveted onto the shank to the trowel. There is a lot of work that goes into the manufacture of these trowels and NELA are always updating and improving their products, we will shortly be introducing new upgrades to the NELAFLEX and MediFLEX ensuring we are always at the top of the list when it comes to these types of trowels - this is the key to success! #NELATools #NELAFLEX #MEDIFLEX
