24.01.2022 We are sure you have already read many social media posts and emails like this. I am sorry this is another one. . Like many other small businesses the event cancellations we have had this week as a result of COVID-19 hurt, yes financially but also emotionally, as we LOVE what we do. We also completely understand the need for those cancellations to help prevent the spread of the virus. . The cancellations leave us in the position of having milk stock and no current bookings to... use it. . How can you help? If you are a business and have land we can set up on to sell coffee to the passing public (to use up this excess stock) we’d love to hear from you. We are free Friday, Saturday and Sunday and would only need access to one of your 10amp standard power outlets. We want to assure you that as a food business we already have in place and enforce strict sanitising, personal hygiene and health practices. In addition to this we are also monitoring and adhering to the latest advice from Australian Federal and ACT Governments in relation to preventing the spread of COVID-19. . Thank you for your ongoing support of Nellie’s and Canberra small businesses during these challenging and uncertain times.

We’ll be set up just inside the gate at Tuggeranong Homestead (Johnson Drive, opposite Calwell Shops) this Monday & Tuesday morning from 7-9am. Plenty of space to park so stop in, get a bit of fresh morning air and grab a coffee! . We have paywave eftpos (our preferred payment option) and unfortunately cannot use your reusable/keep cups - but we do use biodegradable takeaway cups

16.01.2022 I just wanted to share a beautiful 'pay it forward ' we experienced at Nellies today. A few paramedics came up to the van and ordered 6 coffees. We gave them 50% off (because we can and welll they bloody deserve it!). A gentleman over heard and came up and paid for them... just out of the blue! Then, this gentleman came back for a coffee and he got it for free. He did not expect this but was stoked and very greatful. ... Something so simple.. but such a huge gesture. This is what makes the world go round. Those simple few things made 8 people smile.. Be like this guy

11.01.2022 Hey, wedding guests, I’m talking to you today. There are two people getting married and you’re invited to celebrate with them. I know what you’re thinking, *gos...h, another bloody wedding* but this is no ordinary wedding, this is their wedding, and it’s a miracle that they are even together. There’s a one in four quadrillion chance of them even existing, then for them to meet, and not hate each other, but to get together, and then to agree that they should spend the rest of their life together? That’s crazy and amazing and worth putting all of your family stuff, friend crap, and weird expectations of what a wedding should be for just one day and prepare yourself to actually celebrate the couple. How do we do that you ask? Turn up to the ceremony about 15 minutes early, leave your camera bag in the car, and your phone in your pocket. Put a happy face on and rock up to the ceremony ready to party. Fill up the seats (they’ve literally rented them at $15 a piece so don’t stand around them awkwardly, be a big kid and sit in a frickin chair), but offer your seat to elderly, or family if they can’t sit. When they arrive to the ceremony, make them feel welcome, be the clap-starter not the clap-follower. Feel free to even wolf whistle or maybe go yeah with your mouth. Simply put, look like you give AF. Like, just make it appear that you care. That as the couple or the celebrant look at you, we don’t have to wonder if you are interested in this. That’s why you’re here, not for the free booze or to catch up with mates, but to communicate to the newlywed couple that you care. 08.01.2022 PLASTIC RUBBISH TURNS INTO LIMBS Nellie and the gang are collecting plastic bottle cap lids to transform into prosthetic limbs. These are collected and them sent to a company in Victoria called Envision, which melts the plastic and three-D models them into prosthetics for victims of war.... It takes about 100,000 plastic lids to make one prosthetic limb. #lids4kids
