21.01.2022 What a stunning colour. Acer palmatum Dissectum Inaba Shidare is a weeping Japanese maple that has deep crimson-burgundy leaves in summer and this brilliant colour in autumn. This variety does well in full sun but like all Japanese maples does not handle hot dry windy positions.

19.01.2022 What a lovely sight it was this morning to see these pink flowers of the smoke bush. All covered with dew, looking like pom poms, covering the plant. The Cotinus coggygria (smoke bush) has been another outstanding small tree that did well last summer. Worth giving one a go in your garden.

14.01.2022 After a hot and dry summer the roses, in our central tablelands, have saved their best for autumn.

14.01.2022 As we push on through autumn, the Sedum 'Autumn Joy' is flowering well and feeding many of our beneficial insects. These Sedums have handled the dry hot summer well.

13.01.2022 Autumn and these beautiful crocus are flowering. Very much a well timed plant, flowering to signal the new season. Autumn crocus are reliable and hardy. Happy autumn to you all

11.01.2022 Correa is another tough drought tolerant plant that flowers late autumn to winter. These plants can come as a ground cover to large shrub. Keep an eye out for these wonderful plants. Correa

09.01.2022 These Salvia ‘So Cool’ have proven to be a great plant for our gardens here in the Central West. The colour is a deep cool purple. Drought and frost hardy, especially once established. Trim after first flush in late spring to get this lovely autumn display.

08.01.2022 What lovely rain. Now the cold is coming and all the house plants have been brought back inside. Never let winter stop the fun of gardening. Remember to reduce the amount of water you give your indoors. A moisture meter is well worth the money spent this winter to prevent over watering

07.01.2022 A great isolation project. Insect hotel made with recycled timber and garden bits and pieces. This lovely one was made by Rebekah.

06.01.2022 Winter is the time to start designing or redesigning your garden. Getting a qualified Landscape designer can help you achieve your dream garden.

01.01.2022 There is always activity when you have bottle-brush flowering. This Callistemon currently flowering is 'Western Glory'. Well worth planting. Tip prune when young to encourage a bushy habit and lots of flowers.
