03.01.2022 The Rules have changed for Holiday/Short Term Letting. A new mandatory Code of Conduct for the Short-term Rental Accommodation Industry started on 18 December 2020. The code creates new minimum standards of behaviour and requirements for all participants. There are new obligations for: booking platforms... hosts guests letting agents and facilitators. Rules for hosts (property owners) include obligations to neighbours, guests, strata bylaws, and other changes include the introduction of a premises register and an exclusion register. Some of the registers won’t be active until mid-year 2021. These are very big changes, and anyone involved in (or considering) short term leasing should be familiar with the new rules.
