25.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all of our Nelson friends and families! We hope you have a great day and can't wait to see you in the new year

25.01.2022 We are excited to present our Youth Development program. We have created an affordable, value for money program, aimed at children between the ages of 9-12 years. Our SAP (skills acquisition phase) based program is designed to teach children the basic components of football, such as first touch, 1v1, small sided games, striking the ball and running with the ball. The team will also be nominated for competitions such as Devonport cup, Hobart cup and the Launceston cup.

24.01.2022 Dont forget the prem gets under way @9:30 PM tonight. This leaves plenty of time to create your team and join our league.

23.01.2022 **All trainings and games cancelled** All grassroots football suspended from midnight tonight until 14 April 2020. Full statement from FFA here.... As you are aware, COVID-19 continues to be an evolving situation in Australia and across the world. On 16 March 2020, FFA issued Circular 20-05 to all members and participants, which set out national guidelines designed to assist, protect and reduce infection or transmission risks for the football community. The national guidelines state that only essential participants should attend football activities at this time, which extend the Federal Governments current ban on mass gatherings of 500 persons or more. FFA today convened a meeting of the National COVID-19 Working Committee and the Presidents of the State Body Members to further discuss footballs response to COVID-19. After careful consideration and having regard to the feedback received from the grassroots community, FFA advises that effective from 12:00am on 18 March 2020, all sanctioned grassroots football activity in Australia will be suspended until 14 April 2020. The suspension applies to all sanctioned matches and competitions, including National Premier Leagues, FFA Cup, youth and grassroots football (including MiniRoos and futsal) as well as training and associated football related activities. FFA recognises that this is very disruptive for the football community and we thank you for your understanding while we work through this difficult time. FFA will continue to closely monitor all COVID-19 developments in consultation with the Federal Government and its National COVID-19 Working Committee and will provide updates to the football community as the latest information becomes available and in advance of 14 April 2020. Nelson Eastern Suburbs FC will endevour to keep all our players, members, and families informed of any further developments.

20.01.2022 Many of you will have received an email from Football Tasmania this week, but for those who didnt, below is the contents of the email. All we need from you is to fill out a very short survey to help allow football to get the funding it deserves. So please, take two minutes to fill out the survey found at the link below. "Dear Tasmanian football family,... Im writing to ask for your support in letting our State Government know that its time football was given a fair go. Football Tasmanias submission for more funding in the 2020/21 State Budget will be so much more powerful if you, your family and friends sign up at fairgofortasfootball.com.au/. The World Game is Tasmanias most popular team sport, yet it continues to receive just a fraction of the funding provided to other sports like AFL and cricket, that have declining club-based participation. We need to be able to meet the continual growth in demand to play football, which is set to boom now that Australia and New Zealand have been selected to host the 2023 Womens World Cup. Football Tasmanias submission outlines the areas we believe are key to ensuring football can continue to flourish and enrich the lives of Tasmanians, ensuring everyone has access to our great game. These include: greater access to and improvement of facilities for football, increasing participation in lower socio-economic and regional areas, pushing towards complete gender equity in football; strengthening and raising the profile of our Womens Super League and; through dedicated resourcing, ensuring that Tasmania has the best possible opportunity to play a strong role in the FIFA Womens World Cup in 2023. Our football community is so large, we are in a great position to make our voice heard. Please join in the chorus and let Government know its time for a fair go for football. Over the coming weeks and months, we will let you know how you can have your say keep an eye out on the Football Tasmania Facebook page and at https://fairgofortasfootball.com.au/ for more information. Thanks for your support. Kind regards Matt Bulkeley Football Tasmania"

16.01.2022 An Open Letter from FT CEO "Dear Tasmanian footballers, referees, volunteers, parents and supporters. As you would all be aware, all organised grassroots football activities in Australia (including training and futsal), have been suspended until 14 April, 2020 in order to help the country tackle COVID-19.... While it wasnt an easy decision to make, I believe its the right one as the health and safety of both the football community, and the wider community, should be everyones number one priority. But that doesnt mean we should give up on football in 2020. I would like take this opportunity to reassure the Tasmanian football community that Football Tasmania are doing everything in our power to get the 2020 season up and running and maximise the amount of football played this year of course subject to clearance from health and government authorities. Although times like these are challenging, they also have the unique ability to bring us closer together and I remain optimistic. Were lucky in Tasmania to have such a network of committed and hard-working club members and volunteers who help keep football kicking throughout the state each year, and thanks to this I believe the sport is well placed to find its feet again when the time is right to do so. Football Tasmania will monitor the situation closely, consulting with relevant authorities and keeping all stakeholders informed of developments so we can continue to work together as a football community to get people back on the pitch enjoying our great game. For the latest updates, please visit www.footballfedtas.com.au/covid-19-info We will be providing information as soon as it becomes available. In the meantime, I encourage you all to reach out to others in your clubs and communities to help where you can. If there is anything that we can do to help please let us know. Thanks for your understanding and patience Matt Bulkeley, CEO, Football Tasmania Chief Executive Officer"
