11.01.2022 This morning I found AirPods in a locker at the gym. Real Apple Airpods. With case and everything. Have I kept them? It would have been easy to keep them. And it was tempting. ... But, nope, I didn't keep them. Why? Would I have felt guilty? Nope Then why? Because of EMPATHY I thought of how upset the owner would feel if she asked at the gym reception and they told her that there were no trace of her AirPods. I would have felt very upset in her shoes. Empathy is the missing link in our families, our schools, and our workplaces. However, lack of empathy leads to misunderstandings, bad feelings, conflict, poor morale, and even divorce. See more

08.01.2022 Introducing a new movement from our Brain&Move series: Fluttering. Starting at the top of the ears, gently grab both ears between the thumb and pointer fingers. With just enough pressure to feel good, let the thumb slide up and out off of the ear before grabbing the next piece of ear directly below what was pulled. Slide the thumb off of the ear all the way down to the last part of the lobe, giving the whole outer ear a nice massage. Repeat two more times and enjoy its benefits

06.01.2022 Our ancestors needed to move if they wanted to eat, to drink or even to protect themselves. But we started to develop objects and devices to make our life more comfortable, and that resulted in the sedentary lifestyle that we are living in nowadays. We spend eight hours in bed and get up only to sit: while having breakfast, at the office, driving, having lunch and dinner,we spend long time a day in the same position, which results in muscular pain. And the landscape is not b...etter for our kids. However, the environment changes very quickly and the brain hasn’t had time to adjust to the new environment. Our genes are not well adapted to inactivity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a sedentary lifestyle causes more deaths than obesity. But not only that, movement is an indispensable part of learning and thinking. See more

04.01.2022 In team sports like soccer, basketball, and many other sports, the ultimate goal is to win. To achieve the win, players have to put aside differences and work with their team mates. Scientists have found that after games, this has affected players’ characteristics, making a good impact on communities. For instance, a player who was a little bit reluctant to play with a black team mate before a game, becomes more tolerant an open minded after the game. Little by little, friendship and other good feelings and emotions overcome racism. Similarly, it also happens when we work collaboratively in the classroom

03.01.2022 The beauty of this movement: Standing up, march in place, alternately touching each hand to the opposite knee. Continue during the course of four to eight complete, relaxed breaths. There are variations such as hand-foot, elbow-knee, with legs and arms flexed or stretched, in front or behind, moving or staying in placeand all of them have the same benefits! Why do they work?... Because these movements build a bridge between both hemispheres of the brain allowing the information to pass freely between the two, which is essential for activities such as learning language, reading, and writing.
