13.01.2022 Who run the world? Girls once bellowed Queen [Beyonce] + is kinda the catch cry for International Women’s Day. Okurr, might be a few days late on celebrating ol’ IWD but we celebrate girls erryday in this stable.... These two Neon Moose-lings have NFI ATM about the need to champion a more ‘gender balanced’ world, but hopefully with all the noise made for IWD [+ erry day!], coupled with constantly celebrating women’s rad social, economic, cultural + political achievements, these lil groms grow up to be fierce, fabulous + fully know they can ‘run the world’ kinda girls - like every other girl out there

07.01.2022 Thumbs up fo’ sweet reviews Yup, the reviews are in from my Get Social Savvy workshop. Okay. ONE review ... [but I’ll take it ] Belinda's workshop was great! It's rare to find a local social media content creator that is strong on strategy. So, great to hear that Belinda is engaged by the Southern Business Mentoring program too. The course content was heavily leaned towards Instagram, which is a useful platform for small business owners as it currently provides greater opportunity for free organic reach than Facebook. The handouts were very practical, simple and useful, and the session covered a lot of information about "what to do", with the opportunity for a council-subsidised, follow up one-on-one session. - Heather from @cityofonkaparinga [thank you Heather!] P to the S: new social media strategy workshop added on Wed Sep 8 see here for more info - https://bit.ly/3fRSQef

06.01.2022 Hands up who’s guilty o’ this? Diving on in to Instagram to do ONE thing, gets side tracked + an hour later you’ve gone down a water slide [read: rabbit hole] of peeping pics of a celeb’s mansion / cute puppies / funny memes / whateves - and forgot why you were there in the first place This calls for some social media productivity tips [for businesses]:... Have a social media strategy, plan, + goals. This will help you stay focused so that you’re less likely to waste time on social media. Use a content calendar. Planning out your content will save a stack o’ time and let you focus on more important tasks. Have a plan in mind each time you open a social media site. What are you going to do on this site this time?

04.01.2022 Moosey marketing tip How to ride the cross promo wave + cross promo like a pro. Firstly - WTF is cross-promotion you ask? It’s basically buddying up with like-minded businesses or brands to increase brand awareness + drive sales. Cross promo can also:... - help your brand’s reach if you’re on a shoe string marketing budget - help you build relationships with top names in your industry. - get you a stack o’ PR + brand mentions [without the extra kitty cash of ads etc] So how do you buddy up with like-minded businesses to get your cross-promote on and spruik each other's products and services? Partner with bizzos who are same, same but DIFFERENT. Seek out partners outside your main industry. EG, if you’re a bus company you could partner with shopping centres or wineries to offer cheaper / free rides for x amount of time. To find potential partnerships, ask yourself: * What businesses target the same audience I do, but aren’t my direct competitors? * What can I bring to the table? Do I have a special skill, product, or service I can offer in exchange for exposure? Answer these q’s + you’ll come up with creative ideas for cross-promo. Run a joint competition. Call upon fellow businesses or brands that are similar to your business. Example, if you own a B+B, you might want to partner with a day spa to give away the ultimate ‘rancho relaxo’ package. Or if you’re a candle company maybe partner with a plant shop for a ‘homeware giveaway’. Create a comp where each of your partners gives away something special. Since each brand would promote the contest to their respective audiences, you’ll drive mo’ attention than doing it solo. Be a guest blogger or feature on a podcast. You give them quality content for their readers or listeners, they help you grow your brand presence. Simples Throw an industry event [virtual is fine] and call upon sponsors, speakers, and partners, who will obvs spruik it from there end too! Time to give cross promo a go

02.01.2022 Moosey marketing tip painting a picture of the ol’ instagram algorithm. The Instagram algorithm helps surface the best, most relevant content to each user every time they check their Instagram feed. So how does it determine what shows up? Well there’s 6 factors: Interest - how much Instagram thinks a person will like the post based on previous activity. So, if there’s a certain genre of content that you engage with more frequently [like fashion] Instagram might rank... content in that genre [fashion, shops, sneakers etc] higher on your feed. Timeliness - how recent the post is. For example, if you scroll through Instagram at 8pm and then check it again at 9am the next morning, Instagram would only sort the posts created in between your check-ins. Relationship - accounts you regularly interact with. Instagram doesn’t want you to miss important posts from your friends and family, so they are likely to rank higher on your feed. Frequency - how often you use the Instagram app. Every time you open up the app, the Instagram algorithm tries to show the best posts since your last visit. Following - content from all the accounts a person follows. If you follow lots of people, you might see less from each individual account, whereas if you follow just a few select accounts , you’re likely to see more from their closest friends or favorite accounts. Usage - how much time a person spends on Instagram. So if you use IG in small bursts, the algorithm ensures it shows the most relevant posts first, whereas, for those of you who prefer longer browsing sessions, it may provide different / fresh content to browse. So how can your business ‘work’ with the algorithm? By creating: High-quality content - consistently Content that people want to comment on, share or save Content that makes people feel good or help people. And... engaging meaningfully with other people’s posts [aka being social!] pic via @pantone
