23.01.2022 A fascinating history of Graham Audio. Paul Graham with his alliance with Derek Hughes have recreated a remarkable range of BBC monitor loudspeakers. All loudspeakers are hand made and matched in Devon England. Unbelievable clarity.
22.01.2022 Sugden A88 Integrated Stereo Amplifier 1982 to 1986 The Sugden A88 Integrated Stereo Amplifier was a king-size version of the Sugden A48 Series II. The A48 was the Flagship of British integrated amplifiers for many years, which sold over 10,000 products over its life cycle, and was the development base for the A88. The A88 had a power output of 80 Watts per channel into 8 and doubled this into 4 . Each channel had its own power transformer with four output transistor...s per channel. It featured two tape inputs, tuner input, as well as two phono inputs with a sensitivity selector for MM cartridges. It also had a front-mounted headphone socket. Apart from tone controls it also had a number of slope filters, so it was a very powerful and versatile amplifier. Included is the original factory brochure.
21.01.2022 Sugden A21SE Signature Pure Class ‘A’ Integrated Amplifier (Line) Sugden has made a small change to the top plate of the A21SE Integrated Amplifier. The eight ventilation (round) holes that were located above the power output module on the left and right channel (four per side) have been modified to a double row of ventilation slots on both sides of the amplifier above the power output modules. This has enhanced the appearance of the A21SE and made the convection heat dissipation ventilation system similar in design to the A21a.
20.01.2022 Jeff Dorgay from TONE Magazine has written a revealing review of the Sugden A21SE Signature Pure Class ‘A’ Integrated Amplifier. It is worth visiting TONE to read the review: https://www.tonepublications.com//sugden-a21se-signature-/
19.01.2022 New from Graham Audio is the LS5/8S (right image). It is a modified LS5/8 incorporating the slotted front baffles used in the LS5/5 (left image). Graham Audio explain how the slotted baffles work: https://neophonics.com/graham-audio-slotted-baffles/
11.01.2022 Sugden A21SE Stage Two Phono Amplifier The A21SE Stage Two was released in 2006 and remains a continuing model, and yet very little is known about this product. This amazing phono amplifier is borne from Sugden’s skill at producing sophisticated phono amplifiers from its love of vinyl.... Even Sugden’s modestly priced retrofittable A21a MM/MC Plug-In phono stage surpasses nearly all the phono stages provided within integrated amplifiers on the market. What is very evident is the Sugden Phono Stage extracts more information from vinyl, totally eluded by other brands. Now back to the A21SE Stage Two. It is an understated two-box set up with the power supply separated from the main amplifier components which are full dual configuration. The phono amplifier has fixed loading for Moving Magnet (MM) phono cartridges and 100 and 470 selection for Moving Coil (MC) phono cartridges. The design of the Stage Two is simple and compact and it is predominantly placed behind equipment and is therefore out-of-sight. Importantly, the simplicity of the Sugden made cases makes the phono amplifier of exceptional value. It is its performance delivery that really matters, which is brilliantly detailed and neutral. What is not commonly known about the Stage Two is that it comprises the complete internal component configuration of the Bijou PhonoMaster (which you will remember looked absolutely stunning!) The Bijou cases were made at the Sugden (works) factory from solid high-grade German aluminium. The cost of the raw aluminium materials for the cases and fittings was a significant input cost and the labour to craft the cases was also a time-intensive manufacturing component. By simplifying the case to plain pressed metal and ceasing the use of the aluminium the retail price for the equivalent PhonoMaster almost halved. This gave vinyl lovers the opportunity to the entry of a high-end phono amplifier the Stage Two. While there is little recognition and few reviews of the Sugden A21SE Stage Two, we have included a link to Giuseppe Trotto’s review in ReMusic released on 6th February 2014. https://www.remusic.it//Sugden-A21SE-Phono-Stage-Two-br-ph
11.01.2022 Sugden Sapphire FBA-800 Floating Bridge Pure Class 'A' Power Amplifier. This is our favourite power amplifier. The FBA-800 operates in the full balanced mode from the input of the unit to the output. This is accomplished by using the two amplifiers per channel in balanced mode, resulting in 40 watts per channel of pure class 'A'. Naturally this amplifier is designed and hand made in England.
10.01.2022 In July 2012 Neophonics established the Sugden Audio Club. While it has taken some time, we now have a dedicated Facebook Group for anyone who is interested in Sugden or is an audio enthusiast. We welcome you to join and participate! https://www.facebook.com/groups/sugdenaudioclub/
05.01.2022 Sugden A21a Signature Pure Class 'A' Integrated Stereo Amplifier in Graphite finish. The A21's heritage spans over 50 years and has many devotees who love the dynamic, detailed, and musical reproduction missing from many amplifiers.

03.01.2022 We had an enquiry today on the finishes available on the Graham Audio, Chartwell and Swisstone loudspeakers, in respect to level of shine. We are delighted to advise the various models are available in a High Gloss finish. This finish would protect the real timber veneer from damage and fade.
