13.01.2022 Dear All, As a further reminder about the scheduled repatriation flight leaving from Melbourne to Kathmandu tomorrow, 27 June 2020, at 12:50pm. We understand that the COVID-19 PCR testing has been a source of confusion to a lot of you. Hence, we would like to further clarify the requirements. (1) If you had a COVID-19 PCR test and a SMS has been received with:... - your name - date of test - the result of the test (i.e. NEGATIVE) in your mobile, and - you are carrying that mobile phone and know how to operate independently, there will be no issues. You may proceed to the airport. The reason we advised that SMS was not accepted was to avoid any inconveniences for you later on and to also avoid any misused occurrences/technical difficulties with SMS. (2) If you are unable to operate the mobile phone or are not going to carry the phone which has the result, then a paper copy of your result should be carried by yourself or provided to your relative who is travelling. This paper copy of the result is what is on your phone as the SMS. Otherwise, please send the message copy to [email protected] in case. (3) Those of you who had the test through Dr Chandra Deepak Pokharel can contact his office and see him from 3pm onwards TODAY for the collection of your printed and certified certificate. (4) Those of you who did not see Dr Chandra Deepak for the COVID-19 test but still want your certificate to be signed and stamped by him (although it is not MANDATORY as stated above), please come and see him at his clinic. He is running a designated COVID-19 Clinic from 3pm to 7-8pm TODAY. His address is 147 Westbourne Grove, Northcote VIC 3070. His telephone number is 9489 8666. The Nepal Embassy Canberra, Nepal Consulate Office of Victoria, other state Consul Offices along with the other Nepalese organisations have been disseminating information related to repatriation flights and PCR test, we, therefore, anticipate your responsibilities and preparations with all that is required. If you still have any confusion, please call us immediately, otherwise, we will see you at the airport tomorrow. Thank You.

We have been informed by the Government Department and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade that 146 members of the Nepali community in Victoria have tested positive for Covid-19, and 104 out of those numbers are still active. On a positive note, we have been told their health conditions are stable, and all patients are recovering. 42 out of those 146 are recovered and cleared from isolation. We would like to remind members of the community to continue practicing vigilance - to avoid unnecessary travel outside their homes, unless for emergencies or food-supply.
