18.01.2022 What is NINFA? Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Forum (NINFA) is a not- for- profit organisation established on the 24th of July 2006. NINFA is an autonomous representative body of Indigenous Nepalese residing in Australia. NINFA has constantly involved in advocating for Nepalese Indigenous issues. What is NEFIN? Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) is an autonomous and the one and only representative umbrella organization of the 59 indigenous nationalities o...r peoples, recognized by the government of Nepal. It was established in 1991. NEFIN currently consists of 56 distinct indigenous member organization widely distributed across Nepal. NEFIN COVID-19 RELIEF FUND 2078 B.S Nepal is currently facing a COVID-19 catastrophe, with a staggering jump in the number of deaths and new cases. Hence, NEFIN has established a need relief fund to assist indigenous people and boycotted community by providing necessary health care equipment to the infected patients. Project task: The main tasks that will be undertaken as part of the relief fund are outlined below: 1. Provide necessary food and consumables (to the unemployed youth, students, labourer and people who are in dire need). 2. Source and provide necessary health care tools and equipment Oxygen cylinder, oximeter, thermometer, PPE, masks, sanitiser, gloves, medicine and other miscellaneous items). 3. Create and circulate informative video, flyers, appeal and posters against preventive measure against COVID in indigenous language to raise awareness. 4. Create and compile a nationwide report of the infected, affected and death of the indigenous people by COVID. 5. Research and promote traditional procedure and cure undertaken by indigenous people against infectious diseases in the past. How can you help?
