25.01.2022 Luke Priddis and Nepean Community & Neighbourhood Services are excited to working in partnership on the new Kooly Play Connect group. This is an early intervent...ion playgroup for Aboriginal children with diagnosis or pre-diagnosis of Autism Spectrum disorders. Luke Priddis bring their expertise in the Early intervention area, and NCNS and the Kooly team provide qualified and experienced Aboriginal early childhood workers who bring their knowledge of planning activities with a cultural lens, and connection to families and community. Together this new program will provide new opportunities for early intervention and school readiness for Aboriginal families. The Program starts on Thursday 22nd October. To find out more or book please call the centre on 4736 2202 or email [email protected] #lukepriddisfoundation #autism #nepeancommunity #indigenous

07.01.2022 For some people, going back to work is an opportunity to regain independence, especially if they have experienced difficulty working from home and are looking forward to going back. But for others, it might be anxiety-inducing to think about another abrupt shift of routine, from a controlled environment where they feel safe to a place where rules and regulations are changing dramatically.

06.01.2022 This year sadly we were unable to hold our annual event NAIDOC Cup due to COVID-19 restrictions which we know so many young people look forward to each year. In celebration of NAIDOC Week we thought we would look back at some of the previous years, our first event was in 2011, which was much smaller than the event we see today. In 2014 we had 12 schools with over 600 kids attending, this increased to 21 schools and over 750 students in 2016 and our biggest year last year with... 30 local schools participating with over 1500 students on the day! We hope that in the future when the restrictions ease (we hope next year!), we can hold a bigger and better NAIDOC Cup for all the students that missed out this year. Watch this space! #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC2020 #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NepeanCommunity

04.01.2022 The Awesome folks Westfield Penrith are offering a Sensitive Santa experience so that families can visit their Christmas wonderland and have their photo taken i...n a relaxed environment, tailored to children with sensory challenges. These calm and comfortable photography sessions are run before stores open, when the centre is quieter, to create a relaxed and sensory-friendly Santa experience. With a booked in time slot and no need to wait in a queue, families can take their time to enjoy their moment with Santa. While things will be a little different in the Sensitive Santa photography sessions this year, the Westfield team will be working hard to make sure the moment is as magical as ever. Your wellbeing is their priority, so physical distancing will be practised during your visit. This means that families will have their own seat next to Santa’s throne. It is encouraged that you to bring festive props or a favourite toy to create a unique and interactive Christmas memory. During your session, please let the team know if there’s anything they can do to help make your experience easier, and they will accommodate any special requests as best they can. Bookings are essential for Sensitive Santa sessions. Book in to secure a time that’s convenient for you. Please note, there are no walk-ins available. Way to go Westfield See more

03.01.2022 Nepean Community Neighborhood Services took part in Sydney Region Aboriginal Corporation NAIDOC Event in Penrith on Thursday. The event was a great opportunity to connect with community, have a yarn, share stories, learn from Aboriginal community members, take part in Aboriginal culture and taste some of the amazing foods that were available. It was also a great occasion to reconnect with services and members of the community as COVID-19 has made this difficult in recent tim...es. The event was high spirited, colorful and an exciting experience for all. #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC2020 #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe #NepeanCommunity
