24.01.2022 In light of current concerns around the spread of COVID-19, we hope this finds you in good health. We would like to reassure you all we are taking every precaution to protect the health and safety of our students, our staff and our other stakeholders. Whilst cleanliness and hygiene has always been a priority here at Nepean Community College wed like to assure you we have increased the frequency and intensity of our cleaning programme with all surfaces being regularly sanitis...ed and the health of staff and teachers being monitored closely. At this stage we are pleased to say, in line with the best available advice at this time, our courses will continue to be delivered here at the college. With our small class sizes and comprehensive hygiene practises we believe there is minimal risk of transmission. However we are also reviewing classes on a case by case basis for both risks of transmission and risks to our students and staff and may cancel or postpone courses at short notice. Every effort will be made to contact you and if that is the case a prompt acknowledgement would be much appreciated so that we can move on to those who were not certain have received our call. In addition to our own precautions, we ask our students to exercise their own best judgement and follow Government guidelines. This includes refraining from attending class if they are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms, have been overseas in the past 2 weeks or been in contact with someone they suspect of having been exposed to the Coronavirus. 05.01.2022 There are a couple of places left in this weekends Sewing : Pattern Fit Workshop, running on the 27th May & 3rd June from 10am to 4pm. Enrol now to learn Learn how to alter any pattern to fit you using hands-on tissue fitting. In this workshop we do very little measuring, because measuring does not tell you all you need to know about your body. Discover what size you really are, so that you can start out with the correct pattern. Focus on making bodice and skirt alterations using Palmer / Pletsch fitting techniques and McCalls pattern 2718. Once changes are made to the basic pattern, you will go home with your own personal body map and the ability to alter any fashion pattern of your choice. You will be encouraged to tissue fit and alter additional dress patterns of your choice. (Additional cost for materials)

I am pleased to announce that Nepean Community College and Penrith City Library are amon...g 130 locations across NSW to deliver the program next year and I encourage all older people in the Penrith community to take a look at whats on offer. Delivered in partnership with Telstra, Tech Savvy Seniors provides free or low cost training through a network of community colleges and libraries to help older people learn to use computers, tablets and smartphones. Further details regarding training modules available and workshop dates will be available later this year.
