23.01.2022 Another one out the door . Full house dash with aircon heated back light and 8K tachometer. This is the 3rd one I’ve done for a repeat customer. In typical ordinary condition with a big rectangular hole cut along the bottom and had some sort of adhesive over spray in areas, deep scratches and marks all over it. Full instrument refurb and calibration, repairs to the flexicircuit, clock , switches , vent cable, reostat and all the metal backing bits .... but he forgot to give me his ashtray

16.01.2022 Sometimes I’m given parts to repair and wonder how in the hell did that happen I guess in this instance someone must have been using their arse to indicate Dismantled and removed the plastic end cap, fitted that to another arm, internals cleaned and greased, end cap icons restored, cancelling function restored, reassembled and tested. This costs less than having a reproduction plastic cap fitted to a flogged out non operating switch . Anyone can do that ... XA&XB switch and dash restorations, we make things work again

15.01.2022 Another batch of switches completed ( this is just for one customer) For those of you that are only new to my page, the switches are completely dismantled, cleaned of 40 years of gunk, the buttons and rockers resurfaced and new icons laser cut into them so the icons will never rub off again . Sun damaged or broken housings repaired / recoloured, a specialised polished aluminium coating is applied to the bezels (not hobby paint ), replicating the factory finish , then reass...embled. Switches are Identical in quality and finish , icons perfectly centred with a razor sharp image New old stock , pfft !

14.01.2022 After replacing the escape wheel and arm we manage to salvage this rare three hands XY clock (belonging to a phase 3). Now I’ll calibrate it and while that’s happening restore the housing , lens frame and other bits before assembling it and handing it back to the people that are restoring the car

XA & XB switch and dash restorations - for people that want a trophy wining finish without the high price tag

09.01.2022 One of my reproduction ignition surround inserts which are a great fit and look perfect. It’s not a sicker but a direct replacement. For anyone that needs one they’re $25.00 which includes postage

08.01.2022 Now available reproduction XA/XB driving light switch . This switch is a combination of reproduction and genuine parts. The housing is reproduced to around 97% accuracy and the rocker button , internal contact and bakerlite backing are genuine . Cost is $200 plus postage for outright purchase. A bit cheaper if you supply me with a headlight switch or demister switch for the doner parts. Buying a genuine unrestored one ( if you can find one ) will cost $200 plus the cost of restoration. So this one works out to around $100 cheaper and cheaper again if you supply the doner parts

06.01.2022 I haven’t posted in a while now , but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy . I’ve had a run of heater controls as of late, the one pictured belongs to a dash which will be heading to WA when it’s done A coupe of before and after shots If anyone is interested I’m also selling a refurbished XB aircon HAVAC control for $450.00 ( last picture)

06.01.2022 Good evening to all A picture of just another driving light switch ? This one is a bit special as it’s my first functioning prototype ... reproduction driving light switch. ... How much ? Current cost estimates put it well under buying a genuine one then having it refurbished. When ? Not tomorrow ... unfortunately as more trials are required to ensure I can duplicate the processes for making the housings and that they are all exactly the same. On a different note , today my integrity and honesty was attacked publicly on one of the forums by Cameron Manewell claiming that I had been trying to undermine a competitor . Just so you know Cameron I don’t have any competitors as I don’t do this for a living , you jerk ! Unfortunately I was unable to respond as comments where switched off, however I intend to set the record straight ( in due course) regarding how I helped someone set up a dash restoration business only to be shafted , betrayed and bad mouthed after providing him with intellectual property and my restoration techniques . Yep this is what you get when you try and help some people Anyways the reproduction switch is going to benefit heaps of XA&B car guys and hopefully provide a high quality low cost driving light switch. The switch was once described to me by a customer and dear friend as the the holly grail of the XA/ B dash just may be the holly grail will be available to anyone that wants one

05.01.2022 Small details.......make the big difference Got a handbrake lever restored lately and noticed the letters BRAKE aren’t highlighted ? Not so concourse I’m only pointing out the obvious.... 02.01.2022 The XB dash for WA is finished and it looks absolutely mint. Full refurb of everything . Dash metal all replated, nothing is over looked including the ignition surround. This dash has a very rare quarts clock. I’ve only ever seen one other in an XB dash. The colour and sheen of the plastic parts is perfect . It doesn’t look like a chalk board (as some do when painted) . The trick to restoring something like this is to make it look like it hasn’t been painted ... Now it’s time to box it up and shoot it back Clayton Galipo yours is next
