21.01.2022 To all of our 2020 Year 12s... Today is the day you get your ATARs back!! I’m sure many of you are anxiously waiting by the phone at 9am for your results while some of you are going to sleep until midday before remembering you did your HSC not that long ago. 2020 has been one of the most challenging years you have faced and possibly will face. Not only have you made your way through a global pandemic but you have completed all 13 years of your schooling career! Whilst today ...may seem like years of work have come down to a single number you will be sent at 9am, it is so much more than that... The lessons you have learnt this year about yourselves and how to adapt to any situation are far more valuable than what your ATAR can give you. Workplaces will one day appreciate your ability to acknowledge tough situations and overcome obstacles as you hve so diligently this year. Happy or disappointed today, at Nerd Zone we want you all to understand that we are so proud of the passion, dedication and commitment you have all shown throughout the year. Finishing school alone this year was an enormous achievement and you deserve endless congratulations! Whether you are celebrating or commiserating today, know that you will be okay at the end of the day. Once it’s all settled in and it’s time to decide what to do next, we remind you to choose what you love to do, regardless of the number you are sent or what others want you to choose. You have family, friends, teachers and peers who can help you so we encourage you to utilise these support systems. 14.01.2022 HSC STUDENTS! The time has come! At Nerd Zone we are so proud of our HSC students who have been working hard all year - especially considering all of your unique online experiences (thank you Zoom!) As the HSC kicks off with English today, we asked our tutors for their tips in surviving the HSC...... Keiley - Take care of yourselves... do some exercise, eat healthy and go out with friends amongst your study so you get a bit of a break. Don’t neglect your health for a couple extra marks! Jess - Could not stress scheduling and timetabling enough! Planning out my days to the hour and making sure I shared enough time throughout HSC for each subject weight was really crucial in getting my desired marks. Taking the time out of your day to sit down, plan out sufficient study time and timetable your week will prove invaluable over the exams. Jemimah - Create a to do list each day that you can stick to! Harry - Getting enough sleep helps you more then those extra hours of cramming the night before. Molly - Figure out how long to spend on each section before you go into the exam. Archie - Drink plenty of water up until 45 mins before exams and then make sure it’s all out by 20 mins before. Zoe - Don't cram the night before. Cram the night before the night before so that you get good sleep! Georgia - Make cheat sheets to read over before you go into the exam, and breathe 3 times before you start writing. Matt - Keep organised and make goals for everyday to keep yourself motivated! Isaac - Go to the library to study with others. Good luck Year 12s - you got this! Stay calm and trust the work you’ve put in so far will get you where you want to be!

Are you struggling to decide what you want to do after school in terms of university, TAFE or other options? Or do you just need some help setting up a calendar, so you remember your homework? Nerd Zone’s Organisational Workshops are the perfect thing for you! ... In 45 minutes, you will be taught how to stay on top of a calendar, how to write effective notes, what kind of study techniques suit you best, and you will be taken through post-school options (including how to decide what you want to do). These workshops are available to students of all ages however spots are limited! We are running a special offer with workshops 25% off for all students over the selected two days! Workshops will be run on Saturday 30th of January with slots available from 9am until 2pm, and Sunday 31st of January 2021 with slots available from 9am until 1pm.
