24.01.2022 Are you looking for something to do during the last week of the school holidays? We can suggest a short walk on the Great Southern Rail Trail from Koonw...arra, down to the first bridge, where this amazing video was taken. Make sure your sound is turned on. We'd like to call it a 'symphony of frogs', they were certainly enjoying the early spring weather. Even though we aren't sure of the type of frogs enjoying life in the Black Spur at the moment, they could include the Striped Marsh frog, the Spotted Marsh frog, the Pobblebonk (Southern Marsh Frog), the Brown Tree Frog and the Common Eastern Froglet. Whatever species they may be, it sure is one healthy frog population, living in one very healthy ecosystem. Did you know you can download the Frog ID App, and send in recordings of frogs calling, you can match your call and upload the recording for verification. This is a great way to become a citizen scientist and help the Australian Museum track changes to frog species and their habitat.
