21.01.2022 Three out of Melbourne into Bega and Eden. Long road via Yass, Canberra, Cooma then across Browns Mountain. Thanks heaps to the boys for getting the job done. Constant consultation with relevant authorities ensured we were confident in safe passage. The reception the boys received from the public when they rolled in to Bega brought a tear to their eyes, not often you see people cheering on the street when they see fuel tankers. To Di on the Northern end with all the NSW emer...gency contacts, you made this happen. And to Kelly for providing a unit for their overnight stay, thank you. So to David, Alex and Roundsy, thanks heaps for helping the people on the south coast with fuel to help them evacuate. Not to mention much needed fuel for the Emergency services. It is times like these that we all need to pull together and help in any way possible. I encourage everyone to not lay blame for the situation at hand, but to ask themselves, what can i possibly do to help? There are many organisations asking for donations of food, clothing, stock feed, vet supplies, the list goes on. Your local supermarket will probably have a box for donations of food, so grab an extra tin of peas (Australian grown of course) and put it in the box. Feedback directly from the fire fighters is that muesli bars and face wipes are much appreciated. Every single item helps a family who have lost everything, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, toothpaste, cutlery, every single item you picked up today is something that a person has lost in the fires. Please help in any way you can. See more
