23.01.2022 This week we have recognised Harmony Day throughout our centre. As a centre we created a display of a tree symbolising "Lend a Helping Hand" which we encouraged our parents to join in with. The idea behind this was to demonstrate all cultures, families, children and staff coming together as one within our centre. Within our rooms the children engaged in there own art displays and activities to symbolise cultures coming together as one. Harmony day 2021 Everyone Belongs

03.01.2022 We are recognising reconciliation week , one of our indigenous educators Kiara has painted wooden peg people in traditional dance wear for our resources to be used witin our dramatic play experiences in the dingo room. If there are any of our families who has any cultural traditions they would like to share with us to let us know as we are always keen to include culture and family voice into our program. We are also over the next week or so placing a world map on the wall in the foyer with pins and tags for families to show where they are from around the world. Parents can write your child's name/s on one side and ethnicity on the other and place the pin on the map. We encourage all families to be involved in this activity to demonstrate and recognise the diverse culture we have with our centre.

01.01.2022 Emu room The past month the emus have been exploring healthy eating and healthy wellbeing. Throughout this time we have looked at dental health, healthy bones, healthy wellbeing, healthy eating and hygiene. We have also been busy in the back yard where we have planted some seedlings to be used in our kitchen when they are grown. The Emus have taken a liking to watering them each day and watching them grow. We have also started to make some of our lunches such as wraps. The c...hildren are provided with platters of ingredients where they use tongs to select what they would like on their wrap. This has boosted the children's desire to eat their lunch as it is something they have made. We have also made some healthy fruit smoothies and ice blocks for our afternoon tea. See more
