25.01.2022 Well it's a big day for cyber security in Australia. Mandatory data breach reporting starts today for many Australian Businesses. Basically, if a business that has your data gets hacked and it's deemed serious enough, they will need to report it to the government and also let you know. 04.01.2022 If you have been a victim of these scammers and you’ve given them remote access to your PC, don’t be embarrassed, they’re very sneaky. You need to take action. Follow the instructions in the above link (contact your bank immediately- report to ACORN etc.). Get your computer checked by a professional to address the possible malware installed by the scammers etc. AND also consider setting up a credit file alert with a credit reporting agency. Not just your standard once off credit file check but arrange to have your credit file monitored for a period of time in case the scammers stole identity documents from your PC and make use of them.
